That night I slept in front of Awan's cage. Guard him from evening to night. Sleeping on the floor made me cold. Mother came with a blanket, put it over me.

'Mo, let's sleep in the room, let's go,' said Mother.

I was half awake to see Mom in front of my eyes. I said pulling up the covers, 'I want to take care of him, Mom. Here, please.'

'It's okay, he's fine,' said Mother.

'We never know, ma'am. I don't want to leave him.'

Mom stroked my back, and she said, very quietly, 'Mo, that cat isn't Nadia.'

I didn't answer anything.
Mother then left me.

I closed my eyes.

You've been missing for a year, but you can still make me cry while waiting to sleep.
