After a minute of more silence, Neith asked Bain about his bow and arrows. He was surprised to see a look of interest and curiosity in her eyes. "Well back at my old home I used to hunt animals not really thinking about how they feel until one night while I was hunting I saw a mother wolf trying to protect its young yet the mother was badly injured. So I decided from then on I wouldn't hunt but only use my arrows for targets that weren't living." He said with a sad expression and looked away. " But um I'm fine it uh doesn't really bother me,'' he said, tears starting to form in his eyes. " Hey it's alright, I get it stuff like that it can really hurt knowing that happens a lot more than you like," Neith said sympathetically, placing her hand on top of his. He slowly turned his head around to look at Neith to see if she really meant those words and she did, he saw it in her eyes the kind of eyes that hold a forgiving kind soul. They sat there like that for a while looking deeply into each other's eyes and enjoying the other's presence. Then Bain got an idea. He smiled and said "Wait right here I'll be back." "Oh...alright no it's fine I get it" Neith said with a sad voice her gaze falling down to her feet. Confused Bains smile faded, he took two fingers from his free hand and lifted Neith's chin so they were looking back at each other, "why do you say that" he asked "well I just assume your not going to come back and well you are just going to go back to town and make fun of me like some girls did earlier," she said sadly trying to look away again but Bain kept his fingers on her chin making her keep eye contact "what happened, who said anything to you" said Bain calmly trying not to get mad again. "Well Lucia and her little group of friends said that I was trying to hard with my outfit and that I should really go to the funeral home and try on one of the dresses there," Bain started to fume but stayed calm " they also said that I shouldn't be reading in summer but be there maid and wait on their hand and foot then they all laughed at me, so I came here to feel better you know, these woods are like my home away from home." she finished. She looked closer at Bain and saw the hate and rage in his eyes. " Hey, I'm fine honestly i'm used to it," she said as she squeezed his hand making him focus and calm down "Alright but uh.....there's no need to drag this but still it's just so frustrating" he said annoyed ".....but I have a surprise for you, I have to go get it" he said, "As long as your back before night fall but I do have a lantern if not" Neith said a smile now on her face. "And I promise...I will come back" he said as he finally took his fingers off her chin, he gently squeezed her hand reassuringly before getting up and jogging away.
