"How vulnerable, did
you feel that moment?
having none to look up,
or even someone,
to speak at,

When everything, turned black?"
_____________

Yoongi held up his chin from approval, watching over the patient's current condition. His scanning eyes monitored every bruise Eunjung had on her limp body - from the wound formed over her arms to the sore spot bleeding around her forehead - each of the details was caught in front of him.

"Seems like a skull fracture, Dr. Jisang."

The doctor curled his lips in deep realisation, flexing his shoulders and sighing,

"I just hope it's not that bad, Intern. Min. Can you pass me the malleus?"

Yoongi nodded at his direction, then reached for the cabinet to take out the tray of medical equipments, swiftly passing it to the latter. His fingers shook slightly, as he could possibly guess what was going to happen next.

"We need to lift her skull up. Too much bleeding."

Oh shit. No.

The younger male pressed his lips together, as Lia rushed towards the patient to help Dr. Jisang wiping the blood away from her head. He watched them as his own breaths kept suffocating him, with knuckles getting white from the sudden incitement flowing within his veins. A mixed feeling of dread and fear crushed into him, halting the man's further attempts to calm himself.

It was the anxiety he had always felt before every surgery. Afraid if anything went wrong - or to be more exact - if anything stopped.

His mind always dreaded for what he neglected most. Even after one year of his internship in this hospital, Yoongi couldn't stop but to fear - what if he made a mistake while operating? What if, the mistake he had done, stopped someone from opening their eyes again? Would he be ever able to forgive himself?

To his dismay, it happened.

He had to watch in front of his eyes, the ragging breaths of his patients slowly leaving them, their fingers going numb, monitors stopping to beat. The shock was too much to endure at first, for that he couldn't move away from his position, or to even pull everything into a string.

And it still happened.

"Intern. Min, we need a hand here."

Dr. Jisang's urgent voice managed to earn the man's attention back to the operation theatre. He let out the breath which was dense inside his chest, and prepared to face the stretcher again.

The scorching light falling over Eunjung's injured face, made him to blink for a moment - to realise that it was the same patient he had seen earlier. Her creviced forehead was no more wrapped with moist skin. Instead, it was bare, bare with a prominent glimpse of her pericranium starting to get visible.

Yoongi tried his best not to tear his gaze away from the sight, all though every nerves inside him screamed to turn over and exit the theatre. It was a fight between his comfort and judgement, throwing him into a locked room full of vexation.

But when it was the question of saving someone's chance to breath again, did his own preference have any good?

And with that, he sprinted towards the girl named Eunjung, who's shallow exhalations still gave him hopes that she could survive. That she could start from where everything was halted abruptly, and take them onwards again.
