Chapter 3 Finding what has been lost
After the pounce we continued to walk Until we came upon what looked to be a Purple Liquid. "Is this Supposed to be water, but why is it Purple?" Iris said as was about to touch the water. But the creature tried to get his attention as his hand made contact. The water was cold but as he ran his hand through it, it felt Irritated. like when your hand falls asleep leaving a weird needle sensation.
But other than that he was relatively fine.
The Spirit was also surprised that the water didn't affect the creature before her; it only made him irritated. But it was supposed to be downright harmful.
Iris looked around for another path but he couldn't really find one. Seemingly the only way through was the logs floating on the surface of the water.
Iris proceeded to motion for the creature to go first, It seemed to be enough as the creature proceeded. As the creature moved across the logs, it showed Major Acrobatic skills. Preforming front flips and back flips. Also covering major ground in just a few leaps, Like something right out of a fairy-tale.
Iris was hesitant to jump across the logs to only end up falling in the water. Now what would happen if this water got into his system was an interesting thought. But it seemed to not have a major impact or a permanent effect, for his hand was already better. But there was an obvious way to cross.
The first log was quite long and wide. But the bag was gonna be another problem. If you see videos of guys walking through a small stream with hiking backpacks and end up falling down, yeah don't wanna end up like that. After a running start he jumped to the next log he managed to make it, the force of the landing pushed the log further in the direction he needed to go. "So far so good." Iris mumbled to himself as he readied for the next jump. He was closer than before so it made it easier, and with that he made it across. Now if he had fallen in, his Equipment would is fine because the bag is water-resistant, and he made the conclusion that the water below him shouldn't effect him too much but he sure as hell doesn't want to test his theory.
Pressing on, they head deeper down until a purple spiky blob blocked their path. Had the same color from the water from earlier could it be all connected? Well the creature takes a running start and jumps over the purple blob. Iris follows shortly after. Continuing down the path gets narrower until it leads into an opening. Looking around there seemed to be no other exits.
"All right buddy, we seem to have come to a dead end so we're gonna head back and find another way through" Iris said to the creature but it could only look confused, trying to understand what he had just said.
Then before he Could facepalm Something broke through the wall opposite of them.
It looked to be a weird species of Rhino? As soon as the rhino noticed them It charged full speed. Iris's Adrenaline shot up as he quickly flung Him and the creature to the side as the rhino crashed behind them. The Rhino crashed through the wall which caused it to collapse. The Rocks crushed the poor rhino underneath. The creature was shocked so Iris attempted to calm it down as the creature gave in to his comfort. As they walked past the corpse it slowly started to evaporate.
("Still can't tell if this is a dream or reality, but either way it's still happening around me.") Iris thought
After the incident with the rhino they pressed on until they came out of the cavern they were in. Taking in some needed fresh air. Iris needed to sit down for a minute to process everything so far. He took off his bag and set everything down to catch his breath.
But he noticed the creature staring up the broken log that laid before them. The creature started to run across as Iris sat there wondering if he should follow.
