The air rushing past my face felt electrifying against my skin as I jumped from wall to wall of an alleyway and onto the roof of a small cement building. I had learned through the years on how to scale and maneuver through obstacles in dense cities like this; it was a particularly useful skill. Thankfully I had another limb to help me with parkour that a lot of people didn't have, which was my tail.

Looking around I saw a taller building a few meters away with a big blank billboard. The building was also right against a much larger radio tower. That would be a great vantage point, I thought.

My mind and body already knew what to do at that point through years of training and went into auto pilot as I backed up and ran. I jumped off of the edge and lengthened my tail so it could grip onto the railing on the side of the billboard and pull me higher into the air with the momentum I already had. Then I let my grip on the billboard go and made my tail split into two halves. reaching up as high as it could, I pushed myself up higher which created more momentum.

As I flung myself higher into the air my mind felt buzzed with excitement. I'd never admit it to anyone but I never felt calmer or more alive then in high tension situations like this. I could push those finicky feelings away for another time, another place. I could shed everything and live in the moment. I'm sure no one else would notice a difference from an outside perspective. I always kept those things under wraps after all. But I sure noticed a difference. The exhilaration of the struggle and fighting. I was almost addicted to figuring a way out of any situation. Addicted to the danger because I ironically felt the safest there. Because that was my normal, my familiar. And I was damn good at it, at surviving.

After swinging myself higher and higher I eventually reached the top. I stood up, taking a good look at the surrounding area. I could see a few people running through the streets trying to find targets. though it was hard to discern anything about them since they were incredibly small because of my vantage point. I couldn't spot the robot anywhere which I was glad for, I don't want to get too close to that thing.

There was a flash of light from my peripheral which caught my eye. Looking over I saw two people, one with bright orange hair and one with white hair, seeming to be fighting on a large rooftop. I assume one of them had some sort of light quirk. Right dont go that direction then, noted. The last thing I wanted to do was waste my time in a fight when I could easily avoid it.

Glancing over in the opposite direction I saw a large park with quite a few targets scattered around. Perfect. There were also some higher point targets on the roof of some buildings that I could easily snag while on my way to the empty park.

Though I'd have to be quick because I'm sure everyone else would be heading there soon as well. Keeping that in mind I meantally plotted the quickest path there.

I turned my back to the edge and let myself tip over, falling rapidly to the ground. Closing my eyes I felt my tail catch onto one of the tower's support beams and used it to pivot my destination from the ground to a building's roof. I caught myself with my tail when I rolled onto the roof and onto my feet. Not stopping, I ran with no hesitation and jumped from roof to roof, getting some high point targets along the way.

And soon enough I landed on the grass of the empty park. It was pretty big and open with a lot of trees sprinkled throughout. I feel like a sitting duck here. I shook my head, "let's just get this over with." I muttered absently to myself.

I took out most of the targets by hitting it with the end of my tail that I morphed to be sharper, harder, and longer to hit farther off targets. I had only recently learned to make the material of my tail into a sharp end so it was more dull than I'd like it to be.

It was better than how I started out, I'll give myself credit for that. My quirk originally was considered useless by many but I've come from that. At first it was just moving ribbons around a little but now I had a ribbon tail that could be used to slice someone to ribbons if need be.

Though the process to get to where I am now hurt a hell of a lot. The scar on the base of my tail would always be a constant reminder of that. It was well worth it though, I could use my quirk almost constantly as long as it wasn't a taxing or complicated move. Now I could move and emote with my tail to the point where it's something I unconsciously do.

In the past I had to use all of my focus to even move my tail. And even now I have severe limitations with my quirk. The most prominent one was range. That's why I didn't like being in such an open place. There wasn't an easy escape if things went south quickly.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened.
