The next morning I woke up in my bed feeling a cold breeze on my skin. It wasn't the type of breeze to make you freezing but it was the kind to send a small sudden chill up your spine. I opened my eyes to look at the spot next to me, it was empty and cold. Ugh, I hated when Negan would do this to me but I know he was very stressed out with the current situation around us. I got up and put on my dress for the day as well as my sneakers and headed for the door. I went to open the door but the knob only turned about halfway, it was locked. I groaned out loud and heard the lock begin to fidget. The door opened to show one of Negan's men standing there with a gun. He smirked and looked at me up and down. "Good morning pretty little lady." He said trying to be smug, making me want to internally vomit. "Negan said he wants you to stay in here for the day but he would be back with lunch soon." I gave him a slight nod before slamming the door in his face as he started to lean up against the door frame. Negan and I both agreed we would cut down on our meals to only lunch and a small snack since there was a food shortage. I immediately locked the door and tried my best to not think about the fact that he just flirted with me. Negan would be absolutely pissed if he found out, and would most likely kill him or throw him in a cell, and trust me if he did that he would wish he was dead. I decided that it would be best to sit down and read a book since there were so many that I haven't read in the pile. I decided to read something a little more spooky so I picked up Dracula and opened it, getting sucked into the pages. I was taken out of my thoughts by the sound of 8 gunshots going off. I jumped up and heard a line of more and more gunshots than a sudden loud crash.
"What the-" I heard more gunshots that I knew were coming from inside the Sanctuary, I heard people screaming and walkers growling. I heard the door unlocking and I looked in the direction. Negan looked around the room until his eyes landed on me. He walked over to me grabbing my arm and brought me to the meeting room.
"What is going on?" I asked Negan as Eugene burst in the door shutting it behind him. Negan didn't even bother to look at me. I spaced out for a few minutes, thinking of what could have happened. Was it a bomb? Was it Rick's idea to do this? What if we're stuck here? I looked up and got out of my thoughts now listening to Eugene and Negan's conversation.
"It'll take an ass-load of ammo." Negan said walking around Eugene.
"It will. Even with shot discipline and P and Q minding." Eugene said standing in the same place.
"Can my bullet maker fill my guns back up?" Negan asked as he turned back to look at Eugene and me.
"If you give my machines to me or me to my machines... that is an affirmative." Eugene turned to look at Negan.
Negan smiled and chuckled a bit. "You do realize the storm of shit I'm gonna dump on Rick as soon as I am clear of the shit storm he dumped on me." Negan said as he began to walk around the table.
"I do, indeed." Eugene said as he watched him walk.
"Goddamn, Eugene. How does it feel to be the third-most important person here? How does it feel to save these good people?" Negan asked, smirking.
"It feels great." Eugene said in his monotone fashion. "Got something else of urgency for you. Nother item solved." He said with pride in his voice.
"More than a way out and a promise of bullets on the way? Jesus, Eugene, you are magnificent." Negan stated.
"I am."
"So, what is it?" Negan asked curiously, waving his hand for him to come closer.
"Tell me." there was a knock at the door interrupting their important conversion. "What?" Negan said loud enough for them to hear clearly annoyed. Regina, Dwight, and two other of Negan's men walked into the room, including the one that was guarding our bedroom door earlier.
"We have the stairs. But the dead ones have the lower level -- the whole thing." Regina said, looking at Negan.
Negan smirked and looked at Eugene. "Not much longer. See, Eugene has solved us a way out of this mess. And...he actually says he has a topper."
"Yeah?" Dwight said, looking from Negan to Eugene. He looked quite nervous.
"I think I could fix the intercom system. Which, uh... would absolutely change the face of communications here." Eugene said. I could tell that that was not what he was originally going to say.
"That's it?" Negan asked, hoping it would be something more.
"Sorry. That kind of thing, uh... well, cranks my shaft." Eugene turned to look at Dwight for a moment and then the door. "I'll leave you to the last action item." he said as he walked out the door. Negan looked back at his men.
"Is that it?" He asked. His men gave him a nod and left the room leaving just Negan and me alone. His eyes soon met mine.
"What happened?" I asked him nervously. He began to walk towards me.
"Rick. He drove a truck through the main floor letting all the walkers in." He said, obviously annoyed. "But don't you worry Darlin'." He walked over to me, putting a small kiss on my forehead. "We will get him." I gave Negan a nod knowing he would get them and we would defeat them and they will get what they deserve.
