No one was talking. The only sound anyone could hear was the sound of explosions, the fire cracking from the ashes of Alexandria, and the rocks hitting the ground. "I-i don't..." I heard Rick start to talk. There was a period of silence as I started to slowly start to gain control of my body and I slowly moved my fingers. "How..." Rick started but Carl interrupted him.

"Dad..." I could hear Rick's breath shake and I knew deep down something was wrong, he was going to die. "...it's all right." Carl said to his father. "It's gotta be. I wasn't sure if you'd make it back before... But just in case, you know ... I wanted to make sure I was able to say goodbye." Carl said. I slowly opened my eyes seeing we were underground in the sewer tunnels. I saw a cover above with moonlight shining through it.

"No. It's them. It's them. They -- they don't -- it wasn't..." Rick said shakily with anger in his voice. I looked up to see a man I had never seen before looking at me and then over to Carl, Rick, and Michonne. I sat up and looked down the tunnel seeing the people who belong to Alexandrea, the people I had known and loved.

Michonne let out a shaky breath. "Carl." she said as she cried.

"No." Rick said as I looked over to see Rick and Michonne on their knees crying as they looked at Carl.

He looked so sick

He looked so sick. He was pale, his eye was sunken in, his skin had a slight purple tint around his lips and cheeks. "No." Rick said again.

"I got bit." Carl finally said as his chin quivers slightly. I felt my eyes fill with water as I looked at him all of our memories flashing before me as I looked at him. "I was bringing someone back. His name's Siddiq. We saw him at that gas station, before... It wasn't the saviors. It just happened." Michonnewas shaking her head as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I got bit." He said again as he looked at the both of them as they cried and looked around in shock and horror never thinking this would happen to him. I quickly stood up almost falling over from my knees being weak from knowing my best friend was you to die.

"L-lay him down." I said, my voice much more shakey than I thought. Carl's eye met mine and he gave me a small smile. Rick looked up at me distraught and broken. Michonne and Rick slowly picked him up laying him on the small cot that sat on the ground.

"Is that better?" Michonne asked, looking down at him as he fixed the pillow under his head.

"Yeah... Thanks." Carl said weakly. I moved out of the way and at the top of the cot bending down looking at him as tears ran down my cheeks,

"I, um, I got these." Siddiq said as Rick, Michonne, and I looked at him. "They're over-the-counter, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. They'll, um -- they'll help a little with the fever." He said looking down at the medication in his hands. "They did for my mom and dad." He said in a softer tone of voice. "Please take them. Your son... He should have them." He said holding out the bottles. Michonne gave Rick a small nod and Rick turned to Siddiq taking the bottles from his hands.
