Chapter 2

It's the last lesson of the day and Jungkook is struggling to keep focussed. It's chemistry, his least favourite subject, and the teacher is going over the structure of an atom for the hundredth time. He really can't be bothered. He twists his hair in his fingers and taps his pen on his desk to the tune of 34+35 by Ariana Grande. Still Bored.

He looks around the class to get some sort of stimulation. He's sitting in the back row next to Taehyung. At the desk next to his sits two of his other friends Yugyeom and Jackson who look just as bored as him. In front of him there are two girls he vaguely knows giggling and looking back at him and Taehyung. He gives them a weak smile and a limp wave. Their giggles get louder and Taehyung rolls his eyes.

Out of ideas of what to focus on, he looks at his phone under the desk to check the time. There he notices a message from Lisa asking if he wants to meet up after school. He quickly replies a yes, excited to have something to look forward to after this boring lesson.

He hasn't spoken to Lisa a whole lot outside of parties and the occasional text message so he's excited to have a proper chat with her without feeling watched by the whole school.

He looks up at Taehyung feeling his eyes on him.

"Texting Lisa again I see. Must already have you on a ball and chain... unfortunate" he says sounding bored.

"As I said before we aren't dating. We're just friends!"

"Friends with benefits then. Damn"

"Not even that! Seriously Tae I've said this before, I'm not shagging around! Why won't you believe me!"

"See you always say this, but I know for a fact there's no way a guy like you isn't doing bits with at least a couple of girls. Come on, I'm not blind, they're always on you! It would literally take a flick of the wrist and their clothes are off. I know your taking full advantage"

"But im n-"

"Kook seriously, I understand you like to keep things private, but I'm not sure why you would. I guess maybe so the other guys don't feel bad that they can't keep up or something, but you should at least be honest with me! I mean we're best friends for Christ's sake. And it's not like I'd be jealous since I doubt your pulling them faster than me. So please just be honest with me"

"I am being honest with you!"

"Whatever Kook. Are you at least free this evening? I haven't kicked your ass at Overwatch in a while and I'm feeling like an ego boost"

"First of all there's no way your beating me, I'd kick your ass for the millionth time. And second, I already promised Lisa I'd hang out with her tonight so I can't, sorry"

"Wow that's how it always is, hoes before bros I guess. Thought at least you'd hold onto the bro code for long enough to finish high school"

"Tae this is nothing on bro code, I'm just hanging with a friend, just like I'll hang out with you, also my friend, tomorrow night, okay?"

"Sure whatever. Hope you get your dick wet" Taehyung says while rolling his eyes and getting up from the table with his books.

It takes Jungkook a minute to register what he's just said before replying with "ew gross, the fuck?" but by that's point Taehyung is long gone.

He meets Lisa outside the front of school and she drives him over to her house where they hang out in her room. He feels like this would be a big deal for teens who actually have sex drives but for him it's purely platonic. Just like it is with everyone it seems.

"So I heard along the grapevine that apparently we're dating? Thought I'd at least be the 2nd or 3rd person to know?" Lisa says trying to hold a straight face.

"Fuck I forgot about that. Very sorry. They saw us texting and laughing and immediately assumed we were conoodling. Even after a long explanation they still refused to believe me"

"Damn those guys really only think with their dicks don't they"

"Very true, seems like all guys our age are like that though"

"Hmmm, you're not like that though"

"Yeah, but that makes me weird" Jungkook says forcing a smile.

"Nah there are a lot of people like that. I mean practically every female has the self-control to keep it in her pants. I don't know what went wrong with the other half of the population though" Lisa says rolling her eyes.

"Yeah well I'm supposed to be part of that half of the population so I feel like I'm missing out on something. Like the way that talk about it makes it sound so great, I don't get why I can't be just as excited"

"Have you ever tried doing anything like that before?"

"Ummm...". Jungkook starts to feel anxious, his hands getting clammy and his leg starting to bounce up and down in his chair. But he needs to stay calm, this is the exact moment he's been waiting for, a chance to open up and have someone tell him whether he's normal or not. He needs to hold it together long enough to explain himself. It'll be fine. Lisa has never judged him before and in this moment she's looking at him with soft eyes. He needs to grow some balls.

"No I haven't"

Lisa looks surprised but motions for him to carry on, seeing him looking like he's about to burst at the seams.

"Well the thing is like- I've kissed some girls, well mostly to avoid getting called out by my friends, and like I've-y'know-like... jerked off sometimes, like when I need to... But I just, like, never really enjoyed any of it... Is that weird?"

He looks anxious waiting for her reply. God, has he said too much. Dammit he finally opens up to a friend and he immediately looses them. Fuck. Should've kept it to himself. He starts to come up with an excuse when-

"That's not weird at all"

Jungkook's eyes widen and he stares at Lisa, not moving.

She chuckles. "Look Jungkook, no matter how you feel about sex it's never gonna be weird, like, there is no normal... y'know? I mean tonnes of people our age haven't had sex or aren't interested in sex or whatever. I mean you could be asexual, or you may not know what you're into yet. Either way your valid and you shouldn't be scared of being weird because you're not. Okay?"

Fuck. He didn't expect that response. Wow. Okay. That's a lot to unpack. I mean he could be asexual? He's thought about it and he'd be okay with that, but it wouldn't hurt to try before he fully comes to that conclusion, right?

"Ye-Yeah... that makes a lot of sense. I mean if I were to y'know, not know what I'm into yet, how would I go about finding that out?"

"Well for starters if you haven't already you should check out porn I mean... even if not for research, its good even for fun" she says with a smirk "although I'd be surprised if you hadn't tried that already".

Immediately Jungkook feels stupid. What the fuck. Why didn't he consider this before?! I mean he was always a little put off as his mum always used to tell him 'Don't watch porn! You should learn how to respect women and not see them as objects to use when you need them and throw them away!'. Hmmm... maybe he took that a little too much as law. Everyone he knows watches porn. They even watch it together sometimes in classes or in the locker room after practise, he never got involved as he always heard his judging mothers voice in his head. Well, there's no better time than the present! At least he knows what he's gonna do this evening when he gets home...
