Maria waves goodbye to Lexi and opens her front door. She shuts it behind her and sets her book bag down by the door.
Maria walks into the kitchen, grabs a snack, and heads up the stairs to her room. She leaves her bedroom door wide open as she munches on her chips and grabs her laptop. She sits on her bed and begins watching Netflix just like she always does.

A few hours later, Maria had finished her homework and was back on her laptop when she heard her mom's car pull into the driveway.
Maria smiles and jumps off her bed and runs down the stairs. When she gets there, her mom was already in the kitchen cooking dinner.
"Hi mom, how was your day?" Maria asks.
Her mom turns around and smiles, "Just about the usual I'd say! How about your day?"
"It was pretty normal, by the way, nice rhyme there," Maria laughs.
Her mom's blue eyes sparkle and her light brown hair swishes to the side as she turns back around with a small laugh. As she puts something in the oven she says, "Well, you know me, always releasing my inner poet!"
Maria giggles and heads back upstairs to continue watching Netflix.
An hour later Maria's dad comes home and dinner was on the table.
"Daniel, how was your day at work?" Maria's mom asks her dad.
He sighs and replies, "Well, Mary boring as always."
She laughs and takes a bite of her lasagna.
Maria sits and eats her dinner while listening to her parents talk. Sometimes she just likes to sit and observe their relationship. They were a real life happily ever after to Maria.

It is 10:00 P.M when Maria decides to go to bed that night. She changes into her pajamas, cleans her face, brushes her teeth and hair, and crawls in her bed. Maria reaches over and shuts off her light and then all is dark.
She gets into a comfortable position and closes her eyes and drifts off into a peaceful sleep.

The next morning, Maria goes through her usual routine with brushing her teeth, hair, and doing her makeup. she picks out black skinny jeans with tennis shoes and a white sweatshirt to wear. Her hair is in a side braid that is pulled tightly together.
Maria gets to school at the same time and meets with Lexi again. They discuss the decorations for the upcoming Fall Festival that will be held in two weeks.
"Am I the only one who thinks we shouldn't have balloons?" Lexi asks.
"Definitely not, I think the same thing. Balloons are too...birthday party-ish," Maria answers.
Lexi laughs and says, "That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!"
The two girls make random conversation as they continue their work until 9:00 when the bell rings and the school day begins.
At lunch, the girls sit at their table with their other friends and make jokes as they eat.
When lunch is over, Maria heads to her next period.
The rest of the day is a breeze, and before they know it, the school day is over.
Lexi walks Maria home from school again.
So after Maria waved goodbye she went through the same process as yesterday eat, watch Netflix, do homework, and then watch more Netflix. At dinner that night they eat tacos that Maria's mother cooked.
Maria goes to bed around the same time as the previous night, not having any idea that tomorrow, her whole world would change.
