Maria slowly opens her eyes, blinking. She's lying next to Alex, actually, more like lying on top of Alex.
He is lying on his back with one arm wrapped around her, and she is on her side with one leg draped over both of his. One of her arms is on his chest and the other is smushed in between their bodies.
They both have their clothes from last night on, and it didn't bother either of them.
Maria feels as if awkward would be an understatement for this situation.
Alex is still fast asleep even though sunlight streams through his window-wall.
Suddenly, Alex opens his eyes and looks down at her. His hair is slightly ruffled, but instead of diminishing his looks, it makes him even more attractive.
"Uh...sorry," Maria says sheepishly, pulling away.
"No it's fine," Alex laughs, pulling her back.
At first, Maria is tense, but then she loosens and begins to relax.
A familiar fills Maria's nose and she smiles.
"Did you make breakfast then come back to bed?" She questions.
"Yes, it's fried eggs and toast," he smiles triumphantly.
Maria sits up with Alex and begins eating gratefully.
*********************************
"I should get back," she eventually says.
"No," Alex growls.
"Yes, I'm going," Maria says, brushing her hair.
"I said no!" He snaps as she fixes her shirt.
She ignores him and puts her phone in her pocket.
"Maria!" He snaps.
Maria slips her jacket on and walks past Alex. He narrows his eyes and grabs her wrist and pushes her onto the bed. She gasps, but he straddles her on the bed and holds her arms down.
Maria tries to squirm out of his grip, but it was to no avail.
Alex leans in and whispers in her ear, "Please listen to me."
She catches him at a weak spot and whips her hand out. Maria grabs the nearest object, a metal container, and smacks him in the head with it. He stumbles over and she sprints out the door.
*********************************What was he thinking?!" Maria thinks, while she is sitting in the back of a taxi.
The taxi stops in front of her house, so Maria pays the driver and hops out. She walks up to her front door and unlocks it. Her dad's car is sitting in the driveway, meaning he was most likely hungover or drunk.
After closing and locking the door behind her, Maria heads to the kitchen to make breakfast for her dad, in and attempt to make up for not being there last night.
She grabs a pan and two eggs, and begins making fried eggs with toast.
Suddenly, Maria hears glass breaking from the living room. She rushes over and sees a broken beer bottle laying in front of her feet.
"I'm sorry, can you clean that up?" Her father whispers.
Surprised, she nods her head and carefully picks up the glass.
"I'm making fried eggs with toast, would you like some?" She asks, not looking up from her job.
"Yes, thank you. Could you also bring me some Advil?" He questions sitting back down on the couch.
"Of course," Maria answers, throwing away the glass.
With a smile on her face, Maria thinks, "This is the father I came back for."

Hey guys! I'm so sorry for not updating like I usually do. I was in D.C. for a band concert since Wednesday, and as soon as I got back at midnight on Friday, I got the news my grandmother had passed away. So I had to pack for Ohio and one hour later, my whole family left for Ohio. It is now Monday (as you all know) and I do not have wifi nor unlimited data. Meaning I can not post much while I am here. This death has been hard on me and my family, but never the less, I will try to post as much as possible.
P.S. Thank you for reading this! ^.^
