Jess's POV
We got home late last night around 1 am so josie and I went to bed at her place since we were already there from unloading her stuff , this morning I woke up and she was up making breakfast and coffee we ate then went our separate ways to do chorse
When I was moving some round bales with my tractor I got a whole whack of notifications from my phone so I checked and my heart sank
It was Colten Jesse a buddy of mine or so I thought the message read " Jess I want you to know that I really like josie and I'm gonna do everything possible to be with her and I'm just letting you know that I'm a real man that can treat her right "
I could feel the colour leave my body i took a deep breath and put my phone done and countinued on for the rest of the day I even skipped lunch I went to my house after alone
My phone started to ring it's was josie
I could feel a smile and then anger
I awnsered
Josie: Jess , honey where are you are you okay
Me: I'm fine
Josie : um okay why didn't you come for lunch
Me: just leave me alone
I said with a snarky tone and hung the phone I up after I had realized what I had just done I sat on the porch with my head in my knees
Josie's pov:
Jess hung up the phone on me what the fuck
He has never done that before. I'm gonna go over there and make him tell me if issue
I drive over
I see him on in the screened in porch on the swing with his head in his knees
Me: Jess
Jess: what do you want. He said in a cracky shakie voice that I could see right through
Me: what's wrong
I walk over and sit down by him
He collapses on to my lap with his head facing down crying I try to comfort him him playing with his hair out it's not really working
Jess: it's Colten
Me: Jesse?
Jess: yeah he told me that he was gonna do anything to be with you and that he was a real man that wanted to be with you
Me: Jess I don't want to be with him you treat me right , better than I deserve so please don't think I'm gonna be going anywhere's anytime soon
Jess: josie it's not that I know that but I yelled at you I didn't mean to I was just so pissed off and now I don't know what to do with myself and I want you to know that I didn't mean to and that I-
I kissed him to stop him from rambling
Me: Jess you can scare me away I love you
Jess : I love you too
Me: okay now can I make us some supper I'm starving babe
Jess: yes please
He laughed and wiped any tear residue away
He held me hand for the short walk into his house then I made supper for us
