I slowly open my eyes after what feels like years, turning off the alarm that rang in my headphones from the night before. I stare at the ceiling just trying to sort through the thoughts.

'First day of public school in.... What 1 and a half years now?'

'What if they end up like last time?'

'You can't be certain, but try not to be a nerd'

'I won't, I'll be calm. Collected. And cool.'

'The three C's, keep that in mind'

I pull myself to an upright position, checking my phone for messages.

4 Notifications from Gorgeous

2 Notifications from Sweetie

18 Notifications from The Hangout

2 Notifications from The Person Of Childbirth

I start opening all the messages,

Gorgeous: "Goodnight, sleep well <3"

"I hope you slept well Bes Fwennn"

"I won't be up for a while but I should be up when you get home so call me <3"

"Have a good day!"

Alexander: "Thanks Gorgeous, I will call you when I get home <3"

That's Kamryn, they've been my friend for a while now, about 4 years. I wish they could be here with me today, maybe they'd make my nerves go down. One familiar face would be nice, but we'll make due.

Sweetie: "Good Morning Darling! I'm off to school already, but I wish you luck on your big day"

"Don't forget to eat lunch for me please <3"

Dear: "Thank you Sweetie, have a good day! I will try to eat something :)"

That would be Ember, she was a friend from Texas. She has a big day in front of her as well, so I hope she doesn't worry too much about me today.

The Person Of Childbirth: "You wanna get breakfast before school?"

"Maybe a monster?"

Favorite Son: "Sure, be up in 15"

That's Mom, she's also worried. But she never wanted me to go back, after the last time, I know she is worried about if I'll make it.

'I'll check the group chat later, I need to save my social energy for school'

I put on my playlist and get out of bed. I brush my teeth, comb my hair slightly.

'I have to calm Mom down before we get there, she can't be worried all day. She'll drive herself crazy'

We spent hours last night figuring out the perfect outfit, which is odd considering how simple it really was. I put on the white collared shirt and the black sweater with the words 'Too cool for this' on it. I sing along, pushing my glasses back up my nose bridge and sliding on my black skinny jeans, attaching belt chains.
