Summer has been... weird. Six weeks have passed and I've not heard a single word from Micah. The last time I saw him was the morning after our movie night and the last time he messaged me was three weeks ago, which said gone out of town.
It's not like I care, we're not exclusive or anything, however it would have been nice to be sent more than that. Now we're nearing the end of summer and senior year is fast approaching, I've decided to focus on having a good time and also choosing the best College to go to. My parents keep going on about me choosing the same career path they've gone down, but I'm still trying to figure out what's best for me and what direction I want to take. I don't particularly want to follow their path.
But first things first, the end of summer party. Every year, the seniors get the pick the theme, and as the newly crowned seniors, we went with something a little different. Headphone party. Currently, the girls and I are getting ready at Theia's house, as her mom has been gone all summer with her new toy boy. She did say she would be back before Theia went back to school, but at this point, who knows.
My phone buzzes whilst it's on charge and I leap to the other side of Theia's bedroom to get it.
'Hey, watch it! You almost knocked me over.' Kerrys pouts.
'Sorry.' I mumble, sliding my phone and checking the message I've received. My face falls when I see it is just Shay.
Shay
Where are you?
Sage:
Theia's
Shay:
Coming
'Shay's on her way.' I say, locking my phone and putting it back on charge.
'Where you expecting somebody else?' Kayla teases.
'What? No, like who?' I feign.
'Don't play dumb.' Kayla replies. 'What's going on with you and Micah?'
'Nothing.' And that is the honest truth because that man has been evasive as shit.
'...are you sure it's a good idea for her to come?' I hear Kerrys whispering to Theia. Theia shrugs.
'Who?' I ask.
Kerrys turns startled. 'Oh, erm Theia's ex Mya wants to see her again.'
'Mya? That's a blast from the past,.When did you get back in touch with her?' Kayla asks.
'Er-er.' Theia stutters out. 'I ran into her when I was out grocery shopping. She wanted to catch up.' She replies, frowning at Kerrys.
'Oh, weren't we supposed to know?' I question, as Kayla leaves the room.
'No, it's fine. You're my best friends, I wouldn't keep things from you.' Theia says hesitantly. Hmm.
'What do you think of this?' Kayla walks back in from the en-suite bathroom, in her outfit.
