"Maybe I'm too emotional, but your apathy is like a wound in salt."

I was walking home from work when I heard someone call me. I turned around, and saw Tyler running towards me.

"Hey," He stood in front if me, "I um-- I just wanted to talk to you. To uh, apologize." He said and I frowned.

"For what?" I asked.

"I was pretty high the other night," He started, "I feel like I abused your vulnerability."

"Ty, it's ok." I smiled, "I was the one who kissed you." I admitted, "Though I wasn't fully sober either." He chuckled.

"So we're good?" I nodded, "Still friends?"

"The best." I smiled at him.

"By the way," He kept talking, "We're going on a little boat trip later, wanna join?" He asked and I sighed.

"Yeah, I don't think so." I shook my head and he nodded

"Come on, why not?" He insisted.

"I need to stay away for a while, it's just that." I explained.

"I understand." He smiled.

"Look, I gotta go." I talked, " I'll see you later!" I walked away.

"Bye!"

I walked past the trailers, and they seemed to be having a birthday party. I looked and saw Ray talking with Heather. They were extremely close, clearly flirting.

"Hey, Vivi." Heather waved at me before walking to her trailer.

Ray looked at me and I tried to keep walking.

"Wait!" He stopped me, "Can we talk?" I looked at him. He was wearing a shirt only bottoned in the middle, shorts and a cap. He looked hot, as always.

"What do you want?" I asked coldly.

"Definitely not this." I frowned, "I don't want any bad blood between us, Waverly." He explained, "I don't care if we're not together anymore, I care too fucking much for you to treat me this way." I chuckled.

"How the tables turn, huh?" I smiled sarcastically, "Maybe now you'll understand what I've been through." I tried to walk away again.

"Vivi--"

"Ray," I interrupted him, "I don't mean to be cold, but I've seen you slowly fall out of love and begin to like another person." I explained, "I can't just be your friend and act like nothing ever happened."

"You do know that I care more about you than her, right?" He asked.

"I don't care about that, Ray." I looked down, "It's not about that. It's about I don't want to be tied to someone who keeps pulling away, because it hurts me."

We stared at each other for a few seconds before he talked again.

"We're going on a boat trip this afternoon," He told me, "Just in case you wanna join." He sighed, "We're still your friends after all." He walked away.
