"Got a broken ego, broken heart."

"And now what you've been waiting for. The graduates."

Senior year was over, and everyone sat with their friends at the graduation ceremony. Well, everyone but the two idiots who claim to be my boyfriend's friends, and the most idiot if them all, my boyfriend himself, Ray Hall. I sat next to Diggins, my all time best friend.

Diggins was the typical nerd boy everyone picked on. I always hated that. I grew up with him, because our parents were great friends, so it bothered me whenever I heard someone make fun of him.

"Waverly Thompson." The principal called me and I stood up and walked to the stage, where I picked up my diploma and looked at everyone with a smile before going back to my seat next to my boyfriend's empty chair.

After a while, the ceremony was over, so we all headed outside accompanied by the school's band.

"There's our smart girl!"

I looked behind me with a smile to find my dads walking towards me.

"Hey!" I hugged them and they embreced me strongly.

"You grew so fast." My dad, Daniel talked emotionally making me frown.

"Yeah," My pops, Jeremy agreed, "you used to be this small." He put his hand a few inches away from the floor.

"Well, that's wht happens with kids," I talked, "they grow." I joked.

"Let us be emotional!" Daniel complained.

"Yeah, we're proud. That speech, amazing." Jeremy smiled at me and then frowned looking around, "Where's Ray, by the way?"

"That jerk skipped the ceremony." I answered bitterly, "He's probably on the boat getting drunk with dumb and dumber." I looked at them and sighed, "Almost three years of relationship and that kid is still as much of an asshole as he used to be."

"Then why are you still with him?" Jeremy asked, making me look at him pointedly.

"Uh," Daniel smirked, "our baby's in love." He teased me and I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up!"

"It's quite brutal, isn't it?" Daniel asked and I sighed.

"Come on, let's take a picture." Jeremy led us to the photographer and we stood in front of the camera.

"Say cheese!"

I walked towards the dock, where I saw Ray's boat parked. He stood on it while Sarah and the two boys left, walking past me.

"Bye Vivi!" Sarah smiled and me and waved at her.

"See ya." Adam said walking away and Tyler just waved.

"Hey," Ray stepped out of the boat, "how was the ceremony? I bet your valedictorian speech was amazing."

"Why don't you tell me?" I asked sarcastically, "Oh, wait! You weren't there." I looked at him seriously as I crossed my arms.

"What?" Ray asked casually, "You expected me to be there?" He frowned.

"Well, yeah! You said you would be!" I talked upset.

"I said there was a chance I would be," He walked closer to me with his typical smile, "never promised anything."

"Because that's not your thing, right?" I asked seriously.
