Chapter 17

It had been two days since Hope died and she still had not woken up yet leaving everyone worried.
Josie came in every day until Hope woke up.
Today Josie walked in hopes room praying that today would be the day she woke up... but it wasn't. Hope layed there desiccated as she had been for the past 2 days. If you were in the room while Josie was staring at Hope, you would be able to see the disappointment in her eyes knowing Hope died saving her.
Josie made her way to Dr. Saltzmans office hoping to get an answer of why her best friend wasn't waking up.
" Dad it's been 2 days why hasn't she woken up yet?!" Josie said in more of a panicked voice.

" Idk Josie ok? Just go back to your room." Alaric said in a stressed voice.

" You know.. I thought you would be more worried for someone who died saving YOUR life." Josie said in an irritated tone while walking out of the room.

When Josie walked back into hopes room... she was gone.
" oh shit are you kidding me." Josie whispered under her breath while searching hopes entire room looking for her.
Josie couldn't find her anywhere.
But what she did find was a note saying
" If you want your "friend" to live than come to this location.
Josie ran to Alaric's office and barged through the door.
" DAD SOMEONE TOOK HOPE." Josie said in the most worded and terrified tone.
Alaric looked up from his books with a scared face.
" What?!" Alaric exclaimed.
Josie slapped the note on her fathers desk waiting for him to read it.
Alaric took the note and read it. After he read it he put it in his pocket and got all of his weapons ready.
Alaric walked out of his office and to the gates to leave and find her. Josie followed.
" Um what do you think your doing." Alaric said while he stopped walking.
" I'm going with you. Josie said.
" no the hell you aren't." Alaric exclaimed.
" Yes I am I am the only one who can do magic and I can help and there is nothing you can do to stop me. Josie said.
Alaric gave Josie an unsure look and got into the car.
When they finally reached the destination they got out of the car and walked to the building.
As they opened the doors and went deeper into the house there they saw once again the shadowed figure. Along side him was Hope who looked like she was in a trance. Aster they walked in the doors immediately shut while locking.
" Damn it." Alaric whispered under his breath.
The shadowed figure whispered something into Hopes ear and handed her a gun.

" This should be fun. While I should let you know the gun is loaded with bullets that could kill any supernatural being. And I compelled if that's what you wanna call it for Hope to shoot Josie." He said smiling.
Hope had no choice but to hold the gun up to Josie.
" I can't do this." Hope said while tears ran down her face.

" it's ok hope I know it's not your fault." Josie said giving her a reassuring but still sad smile.

While hopes finger was on the trigger she said
" I'm so sorry but not for what you think." She gave Josie a half smile while still being under the compulsion.
Hope had enough strength to turn the gun around to her self.
" How are you... how are you doing that?!" The shadowed figure said angrily.
Hope looked at the shadowed figure and than back at Josie and said.
" Goodbye... till we meet again." She said smiling while tears ran down her face.
Hope closed her eyes and pulled the trigger while the gun was facing herself.
" Well beats me your going to hell anyways." The shadowed figure said smiling.
" Well if I'm going then your coming with me." Hope said while smiling while she shot the shadowed figure with all the strength she had left.
Josie tried rushing toward Hope to try and save her but she couldn't pass through.
It was like Hope had put a spell so that the shadowed figure couldn't hurt Josie.
" NO HOPE UNDO THE SPELL I CAN TRY TO SAVE YOU." Josie said while sobbing trying to still get through to Hope.
Hope shook her head while on the ground and she half smiled while slowly closing her eyes and opening them again. Hope knew she was gonna die, and she didn't want Josie thinking that she could save her because she knew she couldnt.
Josie was on the floor looking at Hope and sobbing.
" Goodbye Josie I love yo-
Hope couldn't even get it out before she dosed off.
" NO HOPE" Josie screamed while still crying.
When she tried running to Hope this time she could which meant the spell had broken meaning only one thing.
Josie ran over to Hope shaking her.
" COME ON WAKE UP PLEASE." Josie was crying barely getting any words out.
Alaric stood there crying .
" Josie it's too late she's gon-
Before Alaric could finish his sentence Josie cut him off saying.
" NO SHE ISNT.. SHES NOT GONE SHE CANT BE."
Alaric pulled Josie away from hopes body while Josie kept trying to break free of her fathers grip.
She couldn't.

When Alaric finally was able to get Josie into the car leaving Hopes body he drove them back to the school.
When Josie finally made her way back to her room while crying she noticed something in her pocket.
It was a letter written Josie on it with Hopes handwriting.
Hope knew she couldn't kill Josie... she knew it was gonna be her was gonna die. But all she hoped for Josie... was that she could move on with her life... and that she would find someone who was worthy of loving.
Hope knew she had made many mistakes in her life one being leaving Josie the first time. But this time she was ok with leaving Josie if it meant that she would live. And at the last line of the the letter she wrote.

" I love you, and thank you for making my life worth living for."
