Ratchet's POV:

I've been making repairs after the Scraplet infestation. They've caused so much bother to the base. So much bother that the groundbridge is out of order right now. So now the team have to drive everywhere. I'm trying to get it repaired but there's a spot too small for me to reach and repair it. I'd ask our human friends for help but they don't know enough about Cybertronian technology to help. So I'll have to find another way. The team were on a mission right now while I was babysitting the children.

That's all I am now. A babysitter and the medic. The team soon came back. With another human! They were injured. Or should I say, she was injured. It was a girl wearing an orange, soft dress with a hood with ears on it, some fluffy boots and a tail on the back. She was unconscious right now. And her leg was bleeding. Bulkhead told me she was shot by Decepticons. Optimus contacted Agent Fowler who sent over some human medics to treat her.

More information from Bulkhead explained how she got hit in the first place. She ran out into the battlefield for some reason and accidentally hit by Decepticons. The humans stitched up her leg and put a bandage around it before leaving. Now she's our problem. But this is what interests me; she appears to be dressed very specifically. As if, she's trying to identify as another species. What that would be, I don't know. I don't know many of Earth's animals as she clearly dressed as.

"Why would someone run into a battlefield?" Miko asked.

"Beats me," Bulkhead said.

"Whatever the reason may be, she knows of our existence. Therefore, we need to protect her from the Decepticons," Optimus said.

"We're keeping another human?!" I asked.

"Awesome!" Miko said smiling.

"Optimus, don't you think we have enough humans in our ranks? This will be happening with every human who sees us!" I said.

"As much as you might disagree with my decision, old friend, we do not have any other option. After being hit by the Decepticons, she is in great danger of being taken by the Decepticons. We must protect her as we are with our human friends," Optimus explained.

"Uh, guys. She's gone!" Raf said.

We looked at the bed she was laying on to see that she had, in fact, disappeared. She can't have gone far with an injured leg! We all started searching for her. Jack found her but she ran for it which shocked us all at how fast she was able to run with an injured leg. We all tried to catch her but she was extremely fast. Eventually, she hid underneath the groundbridge. The children, who were also trying to catch her, had to catch their breaths. How is she that fast? She's faster than any human I've seen. Optimus tried talking to her but she wouldn't talk.

But she soon made it quite clear that we were the threats. She called us hunters. All of us. Because of our blasters, she believes that we're trying to hunt her. Why would anyone hunt a human? Not that I understand humans anyway. For most of the day, everyone tried everything and anything to gain her trust and to get her out of hiding but she just won't. Even Agent Fowler tried but she just won't come out. The children tried food but she only snatched it and hid. Of all the humans I've met, she is by far the strangest.

But I hadn't once tried to get her out. She's obviously scared of either what she doesn't understand or that she thinks we're trying to hunt her. I think it's best to stay away. Meanwhile, I'll be doing the best I can to repair everything without going under the Groundbridge for a while.

"I am surprised you have not done anything to help this girl," Optimus said to me.

"I was suspicious of her almost the second she arrived here. Her clothes, for example. They're oddly specific. Like she's trying to identify as an Earth animal. But I also fear that, from all the running, she might've done something to her wound. Opened it back up or snapped the stitches," I said.

"A moment ago, you wanted nothing to do with her."

"She's interesting, that's all I can say. I'd like to know why she thinks we're hunters when we helped her injuries. And she's exactly where I need to do more groundbridge repairs and I don't want to scare her."

"Slow and steady wins the race, old friend. She will come out of hiding. Then we can find out more about her. Who she is and why she thinks we're hunting her."

I only nodded. For the rest of the day, I worked on anything to pass the time and everyone had left the girl alone. Not a word or a sound came out of her. Who is she? She's more of a mystery than what the Decepticons are up to. I do suspect that she won't come out due to the large crowd. She seems like that kind of human. I won't say for sure since we've only just met her.

The others took their human companions back home leaving Optimus, myself and the girl. Although she was asleep, from what I saw through the glass floor. That explains the lack of attention everyone was giving her. Optimus and I didn't disturb her. We must wait patiently.

But I'm waiting to get under the groundbridge now I've fixed everything else. I do hope she comes out soon because this is becoming rather frustrating. We'll see what happens to her in the morning. See if she finally comes out of her hiding spot and tells us who she is. I don't like how much of a mystery she's becoming.
