Epilogue

He lied to me.... When he told me that he'd come right out after me. Local cops and the FBI searched the whole house top to bottom. But there was no trace of him. And when they questioned me, I gave vague answers. Telling them that I wanted to go with him. And I was tired of my old life, I just wanted to leave without anyone knowing.

Of my course my mom was the most upset with the story I contrived. When I visited Vince at the hospital weeks later. He was also disappointed with me when he knew the truth, he was going to tell the authorities but then back down because there were different laws in Canada.

Nick could be charged for aggravated assault in Canada with prison sentence for four to seven years. It'll probably take years for them to question him. So the FBI came up with the conclusion that they were fighting over me. But if they ever found him. He would be brought up on charges of battery, attempted murder with him doing time for up five to ten years. But it had to go through Canada laws first.

The FBI even got an couple of hits on his whereabouts but when they actually made a pinpoint, followed through. Got the location, he was already long gone in every case.

Later on, I found out that he had owned an company. I instantly wondered who was running this said company while he was duckng and dodging the authorities. They even question his second in command who in which was running it. They couldn't find anything because of more red tape because of international rules for the country.

I now know that he wasn't the same guy from high school. Even though my memory was at least 90% back. I didn't know the him after all that time. The guy who thought I betrayed him, had lived through it all until she saw me again.

It truly surprised me that Vince advocated that he trying to get away after the fight. Telling authorities when he was questioned again that he wasn't dumped at the site where he was found. They were pretty much still suspicious, so it stayed an still had an open case. Plus Vince had known some powerful people. Just like someone else I know.

Eventually my mother finally calm down after I found out that I was pregnant. Plenty told me, even pressured me to get rid of my child including her. But I didn't listen. I couldn't kill it. The child hadn't done anything to deserve to be taken out this world before he or she could actually see it.

And eight months later, he was born Emanuel Allen. I used the same middle name after my own father's in which he was all so proud of. To the dismay of my mother.

Strangely the months leading up to him being born, things weren't that great with the health problems I had throughout. But somehow I got through it. And there would be days I also felt that someone was watching me. I would get that prickly feeling, I'd turn around to see who it was.

Who was I even looking for ? I asked myself when looked around.

But I knew couldn't be him. Or could it ?

When the big medical bill came in the mail. Upon opening it, I knew I couldn't possibly pay for it. But somehow it was mysteriously paid for, I initially thought it was Vince because he'd sent me some things for the baby. I called him up to say thank you. And he informed me that it wasn't him. I know my parents or family wouldn't have, so I checked with them. They denied it.

So who could've done it ?

Nah. It couldn't be who I was thinking of.....I needed to keep my head out of the clouds. Because he couldn't be so easily forgiven.

So I would just unthink those thoughts, go on with life. And give my child the best upbringing I could muster....

But it was not so easy to dispell those thoughts. Because they would pop up in my mind even though I didn't want them to.

Until I get definite proof that he's been arrested or otherwise. Or I will still kind of believe he's somewhere out there, watching.

And waiting.
