I was lying on the couch with my head laying on my mother's thighs like I used to do when I was a kid. It felt nice. Like I was protected, nothing could hurt anymore.
Janelle-
But the peacefulness soon ended when I felt something forcefully being poked into my arm. It was painful but I couldn't move to protest. I heard someone cursing, taping being pulled up. After small pats to against my skins.
Seconds later, I felt like liquid was slowly going into veins throughout my body. Like the desert finally got it's rain.
But how could this be ? Was I saved ? It couldn't be true. It might be an nightmare.
When was all of this going to end ?

Rolling on to my side. And I couldn't believe I could do so. I slowly opened one eye, after a minute or so the another.
I could see the window, it was open with a cool breeze that was fluttering the curtains. I smelled the flowers in which I felt I'd never do again.
Suddenly tears begin to roll down onto the pillow I was lying on. It must be summer because of how humid it felt. A fan was on somewhere in the room.
Then I made the mistake of swallowing. Something was lodged in throat. What was it ?
I lifted my hand, for first time in awhile. I had use in it so I begin to touch my neck then up to my face. There was some kind of tube in my nose, it was taped to the side of my face. I swallowed again, realize something.......
It was a feeding tube, there was no mistaking it. Because I had one placed a time before. But how, why ?
Why would he do this ? I recognize this room, everything in it besides the IV stand and the fan on the other side of the room.
Upon closing my eyes, trying to get used to this god damned feeding tube. Even though I was freaking out at the same time.
That's when the bedroom door creaked open.
" So you're awake now. "
It was Nick sounding unusually like his self. But I'd still braced myself for what could or would happen.

Nick-
" So you're awake now, " I looked over at her, went to check on the contains in the IV fluid, feeding bag to see if they needed to be changed out.
She was looking a little better. She looked scared, tried to move away from me as I came over to the bed.
" Don't be scared. I'm just switching out the bags, " I explained pointing to medical stand.
I proceeded to do what I told her, all the while she watched me like a frighten little animal so focused on my every move. It made me laugh as I sat down on the bed leaning into her, moved a stray hair out of her face.
" Just lie back, rest up. I'll be back if you're ready for a bath later, " I said getting up, leaving the room to make my next meal.

After eating some kimchi ramen. I cleaned up, made my way to the couch flopping down. I reached for the remote. Had it in hand, started browsing through channels to see what's good on.
Until I stopped to a break news segment that caught my eye. It had me dropping the remote.
I guess it's time to move on to the next. I'm glad I planned ahead on such short notice.

Hospital staff-
Five weeks, still under. The nurse checked all the machines to make sure they were working correctly before calling maintenance in. She went on to her usual routine. By massaging the patient arms and legs. Environmental Services would be in later on that day to change the sheets.
She still wondered who could possibly do something so heinous to another human being. She found out weeks ago there had been a lone truck driver that stumbled across the patient. If it weren't for the guy, this guy wouldn't have made it in time.
She always kept hope in her heart as she always did. But she never seen anything like this since she's been working here. In which has only been little under a year now. Even though their hospital weren't big as others. They had knowledgeable staff so no one could count them out.
Another hospital did try to take over to treat the patient but the head director was adamant about the care that could, would be provided. She believed also in her talents. But once she seen him that day he was brought in.
She had doubts at first. But her and other doctors, nurses would see to his survival. And as she began to massage his last limb.
She felt something but could be spasms. But it didn't feel like the usual ones. She looked down the patient's arm, saw it.
His fingers were sure moving, she looked over at his face. His eyes were fluttering like they were trying to open. Upon seeing that she immediately run out to the inform doctors.

" It's what you suspected Nurse. The patient is on verge of waking up. We'll monitor him more carefully now. Hopefully it won't be long until we can finally find out who he is. And how he came to be like this, " the head doctor announced.
The nurse couldn't help that a few stray tears rolled down her face. She was hopeful that everything would be alright for the poor guy.
Only the future will bring about good results.
