*****Sam's P.O.V*****

We get to the hosptial and Cristian asks for Marlene's room. "I'm sorry. We can only have two at a time and someone is in there with her already, so only one of you can go in." The lady says. "I'll go and tell the kid to get out so you can come in." Cristian says. "W-why can't I go first?" I pout. Cristian gives me a look, and I scoff and go sit in the waiting room. Minutes later Jack comes out and looks at me. "How is she?" I whisper. "Go see for yourself." He says. He gives me a hug, before I go in to see Marlene. Door 229, the lady said.

I walk up to the door, and breathe before entering. I see Cristian first, standing infront of her. I pat his back and he turns. He has tears in his eyes, and moves so I can see her. I gasp at the sight. Her face is cut up, and her eye is swollen. She has a neck cast on, and her leg in a boot. Her hand is also bandaged, and has cables coming out of her like crazy. "The nurse came in before you came. She's in a minor coma, but can get worse any minute, and her neck was fractured as well as her leg. Her hand was the one that broke though. It shattered from the palm up to her middle finger." He says. I look at him, and look back at Marlene. "How.... How did this happen?" I ask softly. "The kid said she called him, and they were on the phone when it happened. He's blamming himself for this but it wasn't that. He said there were people saying that a car hit her when her light was green, and the other guy was on red." He explains.

"How long will she stay in here?" I ask him. I go to sit next to him, not wanting to feel anymore worse than I already do by looking at her. "They say for a week max, but it can change any minute. All we can do is just pray." He says. I nod, holding my head in my hands. "I'm going to go call my mom." Cristian says, walking out. I pull the chair up next to Marlene, and hold her hand, softly. "Marlene," I start to say, "Marlene baby, I love you. Your brother and your mom love you, and your brothers kid and wife do too. And Jack loves you. We all love you. Baby you need to stay strong okay? I don't know if you can hear me, but if you do I need you to be as strong as you can and wake up. I don't know what I would do without you. You changed me, for the good. My life couldn't have gone any better. I'm trying my hardest to be the strong one here for you. Even your brother is crying. I am too, but I know you'll wake up and you'll be better than ever so I don't worry about it too much." As I finish, Cristian comes in, and says, "My mom is out there waiting to come in. I think you should go and rest, I guess." It comes out more like a question. I nod, and kiss Marlene before walking out. I see her mom waiting by the desk. When she sees me she walks straight in without a word. I understand she's pretty nervous.

I walk into the waiting room and Jack is sitting there still. "Hey dude." I say. He turns, and gives me a nod. I sit next to him, not saying anything for a while, until he speaks. "We should go. They're not gonna let us be here forever anyway." He says. We go to his car, and he drives to his house. On the way, we pass by the street where Marlene crashed, and everything is cleaned up. It's been hours since the accident, but it feels like days. This next week or so is going to be the longest week of my life.

We get to his house, and walk straight towards his room. "Hey Jack?" His mom calls out. "Yeah?" He shouts back. "Cameron is here!" Jack sighs, and we walk into the kitchen. "Oh, hello Sam! So great to see you again!" She says, and gives me a hug. "You too Kate." I say with a smile. Jack goes over to Cameron and gives her a kiss. "Hey Sam." She says with a wave. I wave back, and go over to them. "Jack we should tell her." I whisper to him. "Tell me what?" She asks. I sigh, and begin telling her what happened.

"Oh my god! Is she okay? We'll obviously not but oh my gosh. Did you guys go see her?" She asks. "Yeah we just came back from the hospital." Jack says. "You guys, sorry to interrupt but there's a car outside honking." Jack's mom says. "Oh that's my brother probably. I've been here for a while. I'll see you guys later though okay? And tell me next time you go and see her so I can go." She says. We nod, and she gives Jack a kiss, and me a hug. "It's kinda late bro, want me to take you home?" Jack says. "Can I stay here?" I ask. He nods and we go to his room to get a bunch of covers and bring them to his basement to play on his ps4 for a while so we can get Marlene out of our minds for a bit, and just relax.
