Chapter 10

- 5 days later -

"I have to go to work." Sam says, getting up. "Alright. I'll stop by later. I'm going to look for a job for myself." I say.

"Exciting, I love you." Sam says, pecking my lips. "Love you."

After Sam left, it took me about three days to adjust to the situation, but I soon gave him a second chance to stop with it.

I step out of the shower, and go to my closet to change. I grab my undergarments and out them on.

I decide on wearing a mint green high rise skirt, with a lace top part of the crop top, and a heart shaped bottom part from the boobs down.

I walk down the downtown sidewalks, looking for a place to apply. And then I find it. Barnes & Noble.

I enter the book store and go to the front register. "Hello, young lady." A male, about my age, or older, greets me. "Hi, um I'm looking to see if you guys are hiring at all?" I ask.

He smiles, and leads me to the back doors. This B&N is really big. It has two stories, and a Starbucks inside of it.

He gives me an application, and has me fill it out on the table in the little room. "I'll call my manager back here and she'll tell you the rest." He says, and exits the room.

While I'm filling the paper out, I get a call from Sam, but I decline it.

A lady comes through the door, looking no older than 40. She's quite tall, and a very lean, thin body.

"So you're here to work?" She asks. "Yes m'am." I say smiling. She starts telling me all the "positions" and the schedule for the place. I finish filling out the application, and give it to her.

"Alright, thank you. I will be calling you on Wednesday to let you know when to start." She says. It is Friday today. I thank her, and exit the room, heading to the escalator.

"Hope you the job. By the way, my name is Jack."

"Thank you Jack," I say. "I'm Marlene. Have a good day."

I run to Starbucks to go see Sam. "Sam, Sam, Sam, Sammy!" I shout running to the register. "What, what, what, what!" he he mimicked my voice. "I'm getting the job!" I shout.

His eyes widen and he jumps over the counter. "Where!" "At the Barnes & Noble down the street!" He gives me a hug, and a kiss.

"Oh, my, gosh I can't believe it! you guys are together!" Jen says.

"Oh, hi Jen! Long time no see!" I awkwardly say, laughing.

"I knew it! I knew you two would end up together! awe!" she says, running over to us.

"Anyway," she says with a smile. "Sam you have to get back to work, your break is over. And Marlene, we need to talk." She says, pulling me the the farthest table in the back.

And then she makes me tell her everything, so I told her from the very first day, to now.

While I talk, I realize how cute and how sweet Sam is. I really do love him. A lot.
