(Original Story)

I stood on the stage, a bouquet of flowers in my arms alongside my graduation certificate. I twirled happily. I'm the Valedictorian of my school, after the hard work that I've done...no one can steal this from me...

My Kebaya is no longer golden, instead it is now stained blood red, and yet it still sparkles under the light. A medal hangs around my neck that has the word 'Valedictorian' on it. I tried to be careful and not get any blood on it. I hugged my certificate and bouquet close to my chest.

People cheering my name...professors congratulating me...just like how I envisioned it. God save the Queen indeed...

I can hear police sirens nearby. I giggled as I await my arrest. "At least I'm valedictorian of the school..." My small giggles soon became a sweet and cynical laughter. As the police are breaking down the door, I cherished the moment. The adrenaline making me tremble as I continue to giggle.

And just like that, the door opened. I thought that it was the end for me...most of my fellow nominees are dead and I've won...I closed my eyes and waited my arrest, still holding on tight to my flowers and certificate, when I felt someone grabbed me by the arm. Without losing grip of my possessions, I opened my eyes to see a boy in a suit, wearing a nametag, dragging me away from the police. I took off my graduation hat and held on to it alongside my other gifts.

We ran down the emergency stairs a few floors down, towards the basement parking lot. Without any warning, the boy swoop me off my feet and quickly placed me in the car, making sure I didn't drop any of my stuff. He then got into the driver's seat and drove out of the parking lot, to leave the building. We drove out thru a back road to avoid the police and once we gotten to the highway, we bolted.

I looked at the boy driving, staring at him for a good while. Whydoes he seem so familiar... the nametag said 'Alexander Leonard Lee'?  Now Iremember! He was a fellow classmate. Clutching my stuff, I giggled loudly. "That...was...AWSOME!" I couldn't contain my excitement nor adrenaline. I looked at Alex with a big smile plastered on my face. The adrenaline in my veins was making me restless and awake. "So, it was you, huh?" He said, not taking his eyes off the road, "Impressive...". I giggled "Thank you!" For some reason, he didn't seem to judge me. I know that what I did was wrong, and yet it feel so right... Instead, he complimented me? I didn't really mind it though, I actually quite like it.

After a while, Alex suddenly made a sharp turn towards my apartment building. With my adrenaline starting to wear off, I looked confused. "Why are we going to my apartment?" I asked, looking for my bag that had my keys. "Wait...where's my- "In the backseat..." Alex interrupted me, pointing to the back seat. And he was right, in the backseat was all my stuff. My bag, my purse, and all the contents of my locker and desk packed nicely in a few boxes that was pink and purple. I reached for my purse and grabbed it. I took out my keys and phone. When trying to turn my phone on, it didn't want to turn on. "Damnit, I forgot to charge it..." Alex looked at me like that was a good thing. "We don't want the police tracking us, do we?" he asked. "I guess you got a point there..." I said, putting my phone back into my purse. I took out my lipstick to reapply on my lips. I couldn't help but notice Alex smirking? I finish applying my lipstick and got my keys ready.

Alex went in to a secret passageway that leads to a private parking lot and elevator that can't be access by most people, including the police. My apartment is directly connected to this secret area. I looked at Alex. "Do you by any chance live here too?" I didn't have to wait long for an answer. "Yes, I'm your neighbor. Same floor, just on different side of the tower." I wasn't that surprised, since many of my classmates live in the same apartment complex as me, but the fact that he has access here?

Once we parked, I got out of the car. By now, the blood on my kebaya is now dried up. I was about to get my stuff when Alex stopped me. "Don't. We might need to leave the city, so leave the stuff in the car just in case. And pack your stuff that's in your apartment if we need to leave." I grabbed my backpack and placed my certificate and purse there, and Alex didn't seem to object. He grabbed his own backpack and keys and locked up the car. We both entered the lift and went to our apartments, which are on the 12th floor of the tower. Now that my adrenaline has worn off, I started to get sleepy. I yawned before Alex himself yawned.

When we got to our apartments, Alex revealed a passageway that connects both of our apartments together. Now that I know I could visit Alex whenever I want, I went to the shower to wash off the blood and changed. Alex went to his apartment to do the same. I wore a black turtleneck sweater and black leggings once changed. I brushed my hair neatly and went to my living room. Alex came in my living, wearing a similar outfit to mine. I already told him to meet me in my living room.

"So, you really did it, huh?" Alex said, taking a seat in one of the three sofas. I was sitting in the long sofa while Alex was sitting in the other smaller, armchair styled, sofa. "I guess so..."
