Kate's POV

"Please, Dad!" I begged like a little kid.

"No," he said, while making adjustments to his suit.

"I have been homeschooled all my life. I want to go to an actual school." I whine.

"You already know everything. Why do you want to go to school so badly?" Dad asks.

"Because I want something normal in my life!" I scoff. "Why won't you let me go?"

"You know why," Dad says. "To protect you."

"I can protect myself! I have superpowers for fucks sake!" I wince at my profanity.

"Language!" Uncle Steve calls, entering the room.

"Not the best time, Uncle Steve." I grumble.

"Tony, can I talk to you for a second?" Uncle Steve asks.

"Fine." Dad follows Uncle Steve out the door. "You." He points to me. "No eavesdropping. F.R.I.D.A.Y, make sure she doesn't hack into the security cams."

"Yes, Mr. Stark." F.R.I.D.A.Y says. I roll my eyes.

Dad and Uncle Steve exit.

Narrator's POV

"Let the girl go to school." Steve says to his sort-of-friend.

"You know why we can't do that." Tony snaps. "According to the government, she doesn't even exist, Steve. I can't just let her go out in the open!"

"I know," Steve says. "But I thought of a solution. Send her to Midtown, where the kid goes. He can look after her. He's Spider-Man, after all."

Tony groans, rubbing his temples. "Are you sure we can trust Underoos to look after her?"

"Positive." Steve says. "Besides, she really wants this. You're a billionaire who's given her everything she's ever wanted and more ever since she was born. She didn't even ask for that. Let her have the one thing she really wants."

Tony sighs, mulling it over. "Fine." He says.

Kate's POV

I look at my Dad hopefully when he enters the lab again.

"You can go." He says. I squeal and laugh. "But there are a couple rules." He states, using his 'IronDad' voice. I straighten up.

"One. Happy will take you to school every day, in disguise." He says. "No exceptions."

I nod. "Ok."

"Two. You'll be going by a fake last name."

I nod again.

"Three. No using your powers. At all. Are we clear?"

I nod. "Clear. What school am I going to?"

"Midtown High." Dad says. "You'll start Monday."

I squeal and throw my arms around him. "Thanks, IronDad." I say.

"You're welcome, pipsqueak." Dad says, kissing me on the forehead. "Thank Steve, too."

I hug Uncle Steve. "Thanks." I say.

"You're welcome." He says with a laugh. "Ready to train?" I nod, and head upstairs to my room to change.
