The Summer To Remember

Chapter 1- Leaving

as school ended signaling the beginning of summer, all i could think about was how my three best friends and i were gonna go to cali. we never got to do anything fun since we lived in a small town in arizona- one the hottest and most humid place ever.

i grabbed my stuff and walked home super fast. i packed my clothes and did everything i needed to be ready to go on a vacation. today my three best friends- amanda, jacoby, and carson- and i are leaving tonight to drive up to cali for the summer. we all have been saving up and getting reasy for this trip since we were fifteen!

- at five in the evening-
i went downstairs with my bags to say my goodbyes to my family. carson, jacoby, and amanda would be here any minute.
"call or text us everyday. we wanna that you're safe and alive." my mom said as she hugged me tight.

"i will. don't worry mom. we'll be fine. i love you." i responded pulling away from the hug.

"love you too sweetheart." she replied smiling.

i then walked over to my younger (she's fourteen) and said, "i'll miss you lili. don't go threw my closet while i'm gone."

"i can't make any promises! love you alli." she responded as we both laughed.

for some reason, i almost never fight with my siblings. i think since our dad left us when we younger, it made our relationship as a family grow.

my little brother wasn't in the front room with the rest of the family. i knew exactly where to look though. i walked through the hall into our entertainment room. there, i found my little brother sitting in a chair playing video games.

"i'm leaving now will, so i thought i'd come say goodbye." i said as i walked over to him.

he paused his game, ran over to me, gave me a huge hug, and said, "alli i'm really going to miss you. i love you so much."

"i love you too will." i replied and kissed the top of his head.

i walked to the front of the house. i looked outside and saw amanda's car pull up with carson in the passenger seat and jacoby in the back. i opened the door and walked to the car.
"hey guys." i said as i sat in the back next to jacoby.

"hey alli!" they all responded.

"you guys ready to go?" mandy asked excitedly.

"hell yeah." we all responded as amanda took off towards california.

"this is when my life will finally become interesting." i thought to myself as we drove past what we knew to go to a place that was foreign to us all.
