Rude Awakening II

I was startled awake by the door bursting open and three people rushing in frantic, Malcolm's first instinct is to hold on to me and hold me behind him eyes alert but he calms down after he realizes it's just his siblings and a guard, Sienna looks miserable and Michael looks very worried both have tears in their eyes, what had happened?

"Malcolm! its Mama!" Sienna wails" she hadn't gotten up so I went to check on her, she was cold and she wouldn't wake up"

At this point we all rush out of the room I was in and into a very grand hallway, Malcolm's grip on my had tightens as we move , he was worried , my wolf and I could sense it , after a few more twists and turns I'm positive I don't remember where I came from. we walk into a grand room and we come face to face with frantic nurses and doctors all rushing around a woman who looks to be in her fifties, she looks pale but the heart monitor is showing that she is still alive, the siblings rush to their mother and I'm left by the door, they sit around her after the nurses clear out. I catch the doctor's hand as he moves to leave the room.

"Luna, hello, I see your bruises are gone?"

Its only after he says that, I realize that all those bruise burn things on my body were gone, my skin clear as if they were never there. Weird. I blame the mate bond for this miraculous healing.

"Yes it looks that way... and please calls me Daleia; Luna is still a little new to me, what happened with the Queen Doctor?"

" Please call me Marcus , the Queen Luna seems to have ingested a very potent poison were testing now to see what it could have been but she's going to be out of it for at least a day or two very lucky that Princess Sienna got to her in time "

Poison, why would anyone want to poison the Queen Luna, I felt uneasy all of a sudden, this was bad. Someone had tried to kill the Queen. I move further into the room after the doctor leaves with a bow. I make a move to go to Malcolm's side but before I can he is up and out of the room gone from my sight, I move to follow sensing he is upset but a hand stops me in my tracks.

"Let him go, he needs to go for a run to blow off some steam"

Its Sienna with a tired expression on her face, I move closer to her, giving her a hug as we sit and using my free hand to hold Michaels hand offering as much support as I can, I felt the need to care for them, Luna instincts kicking in, they were my family now, I wasn't going to screw this up.

I had seen the Queen Luna once a long time ago during her visit to the pack, I was a little far but I had caught a glimpse of her, she still held that same regal beauty even now a few wrinkles gracing her face, we sit for a while longer and the door opens a girl with chocolate skin coming through and rushing to Michael,

"I heard what happened, I'm so sorry it took me this long to reach here my love"

His mate I presume it's quite clear from what she said and their body language, this was the royal beta female, they share a kiss and she fusses over him more noting that he looks exhausted, it's the late hours of the night at this time. She has long , curly jet black hair , tied up into and afro puff, she's wearing tactical gear, a warrior , she has deep brown eyes and even longer eyelashes , she has a grace about her , even though she is a soldier , a commander I can tell by the stripes on her jacket .

She looks over at me reaching her hand out I shift Sienna's sleeping body so she is laying on the sofa and put a blanket over her pulling a stray chair closer to the pair and finally taking her hand " took quite a while there she smiles ... I'm Karrie, Michael's mate and the royal beta female, I'm guessing Sienna finally found her mate " my eyes widen and Michael chuckles eyes closed and head resting o his mates lap, " not quite babe .. That is Daleia ... she is Malcolm's mate "I nod shaking her hand "I'm Daleia, It's nice to meet you"

"Oh god finally, I've been doing Luna work and my own work and I was for sure going to faint with all this work piling up on me even though mama had been helping me , I didn't want to worry her since we lost father . I'm so happy Malcolm found you , and I'm sure we are going to work really well together , I can tell you are already settling into your role , that's good , I hope these oafs haven't been giving you any trouble since you arrived here right ? "

I nod " I've been treated very well here, please don't worry about it, and yes I think my wolf realized quickly what being mated to Malcolm means so I'm taking one step at a time, letting my instincts take over when I cant really navigate the whole Luna situation, you're going to have to guide me for a bit though before I can fully take over my duties, is that okay?"

"That can work, I'm so happy, Malcolm almost got mated to some girl from the southern kingdom the kings daughter Harper ... she came here on a tour once ... wasnt the greatest thing to happen. " i frown involuntarily, my wolf threatened by this harper girl" don worry about it leia malcom didnt really entertain the whole thing, she was gone as soon as she came. "My wolf settles still very much upset at another she wolf eyeing our mate.

We continue having light conversation till the door to the queen's room is nudged open again, this time by a maid freaking out. " the king is tearing apart his office , he's waking the pups we need help , I move to get up , but Karrie stops me making me sit again, " he does not want you to see him like this ..Let us deal with it then we will call you, you don't have to worry, just stay here and take care of Sienna and Mama"

I sit facing Queen Luna's bed again as they rush out , why didn't Malcolm want me to see him upset, I was his mate , I had been vulnerable with him too, what was the problem , the queen Luna moves and makes a gruttal sound as she shifts , on instinct I move to hold her hand and when I do , an all too familiar bright light flashes in my eyes blinding me , I was having a vision, but for a moment nothing happens then I'm in a room , it looks like a kitchen , a cloaked figure in there with me , I can't see the face but the posture assures m it's a woman and the voice confirms it " what a shame for grace to meet her end in this way, what a shame indeed " the figure talks pouring a clear liquid into a teacup, I hear footsteps and look in that direction and when I look back the figure is gone and the queen walks in taking the tainted cup and drinking from it the scene changes to her room and Sienna walking in finding her and screaming for Michael , her scream snaps me out of the vision sending me back to reality.

I'm on the ground when I wake up, no burning though, and in the arms of Malcolm with the others and a doctor surrounding me

"What happened, Daleia? What did you see?"
