Jake sped through back streets of Dixie, and it took us five minutes to reach the apartment building. The woman Aide talked to on the phone -- who I later knew as Lisa -- met us outside the main door and told Jake to park the Buick in the huge garage behind the building.

"Normally, five or six cars can fit in the garage," Lisa said, "but as you can see right now there isn't as much room. We're renovating in here, but soon it should be back to normal. Let's go check out the apartment." She guided us through a door that led us to a hallway inside the building. After walking up two flights of stairs, we reached yet another hallway that contained four different doors. The door we went to was placed three doors down. Lisa unlocked the door for us, and we followed her inside. "Everything in here is for your use. After the place was renovated two months ago, I had all new furniture put in. This is the living room, and this way leads back to two bedrooms." She said as she led us to the back of the apartment building. I listened in 'awe' as I toured the apartment. The entire place was amazing. Everything was new, even the beds. The walk-in closet of the bedroom we were in wasn't that big, but it was big enough for two of us girls to share. The walls were freshly painted a bright blue color, which looked awesome with the brown picture frames that lined them. A tall lamp fixture lit up the entire room despite the fact that it stood in the corner. A flower pot with a beautiful arrangement of flowers sat on the window sill.

As we left one room and walked into the next, I expected to see the same design, but it was even better. The queen-sized bed sat in the corner on the opposite side of the room, right across from the gigantic walk-in closet. The walls were purple with orange trim. A huge pair of windows sat at the foot of the bed and looked like they could open to a balcony.

"It's so pretty," Mel said.

“It doesn't even seem like an apartment," said Jake. I shook my head in agreement.

"I think that means we'll take it," Aide turned to Lisa.  Lisa laughed.

"We haven't even finished the tour yet."

"It's okay," I said. "Aide's right. We'll take it."

"Okay," Lisa said," I'll need you to sign this lease, and I'll also need a deposit and the apartment is yours." All four of us signed the lease agreement, and Lisa handed us the key to the apartment. We all said thank you, Lisa stood and talked to us for a couple minutes, and then she headed out. After she left, Jake locked the front door and the first bedroom's door. We all sat in a circle on the floor of the smaller room, no one talked for what seemed like an eternity. Then, I spoke up.

"So, I honestly think the other room is big enough for all three of us girls to sleep in. You two can share the queen bed and we can move a couch from the living room in there for me to sleep on. Then Jake can have this room to himself."

"I agree," said Mel. "That room is huge. I think the three of us can live as roommates for a while." Aide nodded her head.

"Are you okay with that, Jake," his sister asked him.

"Yes, I am." He said.

"Of course he's okay with it," said Mel. "He gets a room all to himself." Jake glared at her, though he knew she was only picking on him.  We got up, unlocked the bedroom door, and moved a couch into the large bedroom. After the couch was placed next to the bed, we all sat down and relaxed. Everyone was being random and silly, yet I stayed quiet. After about twenty minutes of listening to their witty conversations, I softly fell into a deep sleep.
