It has been three years already and it went by in a blur. The training, the dinners, everything. Sasha and I are still the best of friends. Mikasa and I were still on speaking terms and we didn't fight at all. Eren was still a jackass as usual. I got along pretty well with everyone else. Today is the day we graduate from the cadet corps, and we figure out our ranks and choose our regiments, the day I've trained for all of my life.

Now, we were all standing in orderly rows, in front of Shadis, and other officials, waiting for them to announce the rankings.

"I will announce the class rankings now, in 10th place, Christa Lenz!"

"Sasha Braus"

I smiled as Sasha walked up.

"Connie Springer"

"Marco Bodt"

"Jean Kirstein"

"Eren Jaeger"

Oh god. Jean is not going to be happy. They are probably going to fight at dinner.

"Annie Leonhart"

"Bertolt Hoover"

"Reiner Braun"

Why are those three always together?

I watched as all of my friends stood in front of the rest of us, slightly nervous for some reason. Why am I so nervous? I look over to the people behind me and I see Mikasa. She is definitely going to get the first place spot, no doubt. I furrowed my brows, worried that if my father found out that I didn't even rank, what worse things he could do to me.

"For this years cadets, we have a case so unexpected, it threw off all of the officials, even the ones within wall sina. Y/N L/N and Mikasa Ackerman have tied for first place in the class rankings. We do not have the time to resolve this because of the fall of wall maria and rose. So therefore, they will share the spot, congratulations to everyone who ranked."

I didn't even move forward. Share the spot? Are you fucking serious? Even after everything I've went through just to get here, they want me to share the spot? Mikasa must have thought the same thing, because she was glaring at me, and I glared right back. We both moved forward, while trying not to kill each other, and took our places right next to each other. I don't care if it is Mikasa, I deserve this spot more than her. All she wants to do is protect her boyfriend, and I need to prove that I'm strong to my abusive father. I deserve this spot to myself! I stood, head hung high, next to Mikasa and my other friends, facing the officials, waiting for one of them to speak again.
