Jason's POV
The plane finally landed, which seemed like the flight took forever. I guess that's because I couldn't sleep at all. Thoughts of Liam were rushing through my mind, over and over again. Things like what's going to happen, how long it will be until we see each other, and thoughts like that. I know that we've talked about it before I left but I still feel a bit uneasy. I can't help but let these dark thoughts roam around my head.
I eventually got my luggage and went to the kiosk for my rent-a-car. I received the key to the car and stepped outside. The cold winter air whipped against my body as I saw my breath exhale from my body. This weather brings back one special memory of Liam and I.
*Flashback*
It was a lovely afternoon and when Liam came back from rehearsals, he decided to take us on a little date. Nothing big, just going to the coffee shop and then the park to spend time together and that's all I could ever ask for. I secretly wanted it to snow, even though my smart self didn't bring my jacket. Something about the snow makes everything magical. At least that's how I see it.
After we got our coffee and left the shop, we were on our way to the park. Shortly after, Liam stopped walking.
"Babe, you must be freezing. Take my jacket." He offered.
"I'm fine." I clearly lied.
"It's not that cold." I shivered.
"Okay, if you say so." He smiled.
We got to the park benches and sat down for a while. We talked about just about everything. Literally random things and whatever else popped into our heads. At one point we were talking about how Niall got so drunk, we put him on a raft in the pool. Needless to say, Niall woke up quite unhappy and wet. In the midst of laughing, Liam stopped and looked straight at me.
"Look, you're shivering like crazy. Take my jacket."
"Won't you be just as cold?" I asked.
"Trust me, I'll be fine. I'm wearing a jumper under this so I'll be warm enough." He explained.
"And trust me Liam, I'm not that cold." I declined.
"Please." He begged with those puppy dog eyes.
Damn. Liam knows I can't resist when he does that. I sighed.
"Fine, I'll take it. Thanks babe." I gave in and kissed his cheek.
"I don't want you to get sick before you go back to the states." He said with concern.
"With you looking after me, I think I'll be just fine." I smiled.
*End Flashback*
Tears started to fall and crash down my face. It has barely been a day and I'm like this. I wiped the tears away and started the ignition. I just wanted to get home and sleep. I got home and parked the car. I brought everything inside and ran up the stairs to my bed. It was so nice and comfortable, much better than sitting on an airplane for hours. Although it felt... empty. I rolled over and I was facing my nightstand. And on it was a picture of Austin and I. I felt tears starting to well up in my eyes. No. I will not let him do this to me. It's crazy how even when we aren't together anymore he's causing me pain. But I won't let him win.
I put the picture down and went to get some water. I took some sleeping pills hoping it will knock me out soon. There's just so much on my mind and I don't want to deal with it right now. Starting tomorrow though, I will clear out the memories of Austin and get rid of everything that has to do with him. He's in the past and Liam is my future.
