Kimura lets out a yelp as Hinata storms past her desk. This makes him stop, frown, and slowly turn towards her. ". . .Is everything alright?" He asks.
"She stiffens. "Y-Your eye."
"My what? Oh-" He curses internally, having forgotten to grab his eyepatch on the way out. Now his peculiar red eye is on display for all to see. Great.
"D-Don't worry about it, Kimura-san, I was born this way." He reassures her. She doesn't look that convinced. ". . .Heterochromia runs in my family-stop looking at me like that!" He snaps before turning around and storming back upstairs, supposing he won't get anywhere without his eyepatch.
Komaeda is waiting for him back in their room. "You're back quick." He observes.
"Forgot my eyepatch."
The demon frowns, tilting his head to the side. "I don't see anything wrong with either one of your eyes. In fact, they're quite beautiful."
"Yeah well," Hinata grabs his eyepatch off of the hook, "Some people think it's weird to have a single red eye. That's all I've heard since I was little so I just cover it up now," He slips it around his head, "It's just much easier that way."
"But. . .pretty!" Komaeda pouts.
The brunet sighs, giving up on going out and sitting down on the bed. "Yeah, Chiaki used to say that all the time but I never listened."
Komaeda tilts his head to the side questioningly. "Chiaki?"
Hinata smiles faintly. "Yeah, Nanami Chiaki. My live-in best friend. Live in mostly because neither of us could afford to pay for a place on our own. She was the best."
Nagito smiles. "Sounds like she is. . .a good person. She must be very special." He responds, sitting down next to him but still keeping some distance.
"She is. . .I just wish I knew where she was or if she's even still alive."
The demon's interest piques. "Hmm? Did something happen to her?"
Hinata's eyes darken. "Yeah. . .She's been missing for a long time now. Just came home after hunting a ghoul one day and she was gone. There were signs of a struggle. She was probably kidnapped by demons or someone who was mad at me. And you know, I'd go rescue her in a heartbeat, it's just. . .I still have no idea where to begin."
Komaeda hums. "Well, I have a lot of connections in the supernatural world. I can try asking around."
The hunter's face lights up. "Huh?! R-Really?! You'd do that?!"
"Only if you sign away your soul to me."
All of Hinata's hope and joy crumbles in an instant and he glares hard at the demon. Komaeda chuckles.
"Kidding, kidding, my hunter. I'll do my best, alright? I'll help you find her." He promises.
"That wasn't funny."
"I know. I'm sorry. I'll do my best, forgive me."
Hinata sighs. "Whatever. . .now since it's three days before the full moon, I'm going to go find a way to kill some time. Don't follow me."
Komaeda purses his lips. "Very well. Do have a good day, Hinata."
