Chapter fifteen: innocent children
We had nothing at all to go on and were starving so we stopped at a burger place.
"I'll have a bacon burger supreme," Dean said. He really liked to lay on the carbs.
"I'll have a chicken soup," the lady smiled and nodded she looked warn and tired.
"your eating?" Dean asked seemingly surprised.
"yeah it just sort of happened along with all the stuff I could do before."
"so killing the king of hell pulled the plug?"
"no I think it's more like shut it off temporarily to save power or something how else I'm I suppose to be the key holder," I used my fingers to resemble quotations.
"wana hear something funny," Dean said, desperately trying to change the subject.
"try me."
"I heard that as soon as Crowley died downstairs went to shit and all the demons are without order going crazy."
"haha so funny," I said sarcastically.
"not unless you've been there."
"you've been to hell?" I asked surprised.
"yeah remember I told you I died a lot, and I've been to both sides of the bridge, and stuck underneith it."
"what was it like?"
"let's just say it was unforgetable."
The lady came back with our food.
"anything else," she asked drearily.
"nope all good here," Dean answered. We ate for a while silently. I mostly staring at all the people around us being cautious and bored while Dean stared at his phone. I took more notice of him as I just saw him looking and looking but never moving his fingers.
"what are you staring at," I finally asked.
"oh uh nothing just though I'd call Garth to take a case."
"why can't you do it with me?"
"because I thought we were looking for twinkle toes."
"Keith, and we've got nothing so far might as well."
"might as well what? get you killed."
"no save people, arn't you so glass half full," I smirked. He thought about it for a moment and then looked at me. I made a face saying c'mon man and he gave in.
"fine but it's only because this case is important."
"give me the Deets."
"Missouri, there is a small town called Hill Grades, kids have been going missing 18 in the last two months and it's getting worse as time goes by."
"alright sounds exciting."
"yeah I bet Sammy would have a ton of fun with it," he said sadly and sarcastically.
The day we arrived at Hill Grades Missouri it was the week of a large storm. the rain was unbelieveably heavy you could bearly even see through the thick blanket of water. Besides the impala, though in mint condition, had shitty windshield wipers.
The town was a complete and utter dump. There was no reason for the FBI to get all crazy about this 200 population town. I sort of felt bad for them, no one cared about their kids, the human races children dissapearing without a trace. Me and Dean had disguises on. I had my short hair neatly straightened against the curve of my face and glasses. Dean had his hair neatly geled back with comb. We both had on black trench coats that would definatley seal the deal for the towns folk.
