Chapter fifty one: SHC

Shadens pov:

three weeks later

I was waiting for Sam and Dean to come out of the seven eleven at the gas station. It had been three weeks of dead ends and constant driving and I could feel the irritation starting to get to me. I had to do something sooner or later or else I was going to have a mental break down. Going to shinedown and meeting with Trudy was a waste of time I'd learned more about the hunt we did before hand rather than from her. Hell I had a better time at college waiting to see if they were dead or not instead of sitting in this car waiting for Dean to pick what flavor of pie to get.

When the waiting couldn't go on any longer I jumped out of the car and stormed towards the store. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something on a news paper. I didn't really want to waste fifty cents on a paper but I was desperate for some action. The cover of the paper in big bold letters read: Spontaneous Human Combustion Is Real? I read through the artical breifly, it was a fashion show and one of the models on the cat walk burst into flames and was burned to death in front of everyone. The otopsy revealed that the fire originated inside her. I first saw Sam walking out the door and I stopped him.

"look at this?" I handed him the paper. He scanned it for a few moments then handed it back to me.

"what about it?"

"do you want to go hunting, we aren't really getting anywhere on the guardian thing."

"are you sure, with that whole dream you had about Keith I've been trying to look the other way on these sort of things."

"I need something to get my mind off it anyway."

Sam put the groceries he bought in the trunk.

"it's fine with me as long as Dean doesn't have anything planned."

As if it were an act of god Dean waltzed around the edge of the car "I have something planned?"

"no Shaden just has this uh SHC thing, she thinks its worth checking," Sam told him. I then gave Dean the paper to read.

"what about the guardians and all that shit Jack told us about?"

"you mean Jake, and it's not like we have any leads let's just go please. It's not even far from here!"

"there is models involved," Sam tried to convince him.

"alright alright if you insist but keep your heads in the game I don't want us losing track of what were trying to do," Dean reassured us.

Sam shook his head "I think you forgot what we do, we kill monsters."

We went to Chicago where the thirty first annual fashion presentation was taking place and the combustion of models. The area was huge and models were running around everywhere with stylists at hand, fixing their hair and makeup. A distressed woman knowticed Sam and ran over to us.

"finally I thought you were going to cancel again!"

"excuse me?" Sam said caught off guard.

"you're the male model replacement, for that woman who died, right?"

"sorry but I'm not."

"I'll be the replacement," Dean suggested. Was he serious, a male model?

"you? No way, you've got such harsh cheek bones and not to mention... Your fat," she snickered. I bit my tounge so I wouldn't be able to giggle but Sam beat me to it. Dean however had a shocked hurt face which imeadiantly boiled over to anger.
