Today, is the day that we would be married for two years . I can't believe it's lasted this long.

Everyone says that he was just into looks, body shape and superficial stuff. They were wrong.

Our first date was one of the best dates I've had in a while. We were awkward, sitting there, listening to the jazz music play over the restaurant's speakers as the waiter filled up our glasses with wine.

I wanted to break the ice, get to know him better.

"So... where you from?"

"I'm from Brooklyn. Came to LA for college. What about you?"

"Oh, I was born here."

"Cool."

We slowly sipped our wine, staring again, awkwardly into each other's eyes and smiling.

"Well uh, what did you take in college? I know we went to the same college but, we were in different classes, so I didn't manage to get to know you."

"I graduated with an Art degree, and I hope to pursue something in that... uh...."

I couldn't find the word, and he raised an eyebrow.

"Job... scope. I hope to get a job that actually requires an Art degree. Anyway, what did you take?"

"Business. I am the CEO of a big company. It's my dad's actually. It's quite cool. If you don't mind I could get you a.. temp job of sorts there while you find for a job suited to your degree."

"Really? That'd be great. Could really use some cash right now."

"It's ok. This is my treat."

We chuckled, and the rest of the date was fine.

The magic was there for a long time, and I was certain it would continue. But nothing lasts forever.

Present day

"You ready?"

"Course. I'm always ready for you sweetheart."

"Alright, I'm coming."

I leap onto the couch and she 'catches' me in her arms, giggling into my neck.

"That was fun! We should do it more."

It was movie night, and Trisha had picked out a movie for us to watch. Work had been hard, and I just wanted to kick back with my girlfriend and sip on beer.

"Listen, Vivian. I know today is the day..."

"Yeah.. I know."

"Is it ok if you tell me the story again?"

"Of course. If that's how you want to ruin movie night."

"I just like the story, it was the beginning of our relationship."

"I know. But I hate him. Jeez, men."

"Yeah! I know right? Seriously. C'mon now, tell it!"

"Ok, ok! Calm your tits."

Like a little child, she grabs the pillow and hugs it, leaning in.

"So, it was our one year anniversary."

"Honey?"

"Yes, sweetheart?"
