Chapter 1 : Mr. Snake
"This place keeps on getting stranger..." A being with red curly hair muttered silently under her breath. She turned around and inspected her surroundings. She couldn't help but wrinkle her nose in utter curiosity.
"I never knew earth could be this peculiar."
Indeed, earth was rather peculiar for little Kira. You might ask as to why it is, but let me just tell you, the place Kira arrived in was very unwelcoming.
The small being tried to make out of the particles underneath her. It was very hard to move above it.
"Oh, such weird things are under my feet." She tried to make out of it yet she can't. Kira huffed then tried to calm herself then remembered of why she was here.
"I mustn't act unwisely. I must complete this at all cost." She reassured herself with finality. There was deafening silence surrounding her with bits of hissing sound.
Then, she mustered all of her concentration and closed her eyes. Once her orbs were closed, everything was crystal clear. Kira could now fully analyze her mission all over again. In her head, she could she see it all.
Coded messages were swirling around her. Ethereal figures were everywhere. Undecipherable images were filling her head. Thousands of alien ciphers were in her grasp. An ordinary human couldn't possibly understand any of these, but not Kira. The codes were many yet with one meaning, Kira was here for a deadly reason.
As Kira reviewed all of the things she knew by heart, she could hear a distant hissing noise. She tried to ignore it yet the sound was getting louder as if the creature making it was getting closer.
Kira tried not to get distracted by the sound but to no avail. Her curiosity was always her weakness. She opened her eyes once again, the mind-boggling images were all gone and was replaced with the bizarre view of where she was at.
Kira strained her ears to follow the enigmatic sound. But to her astonishment, the hissing sound found her.
This red-headed being was shocked to see a green slithery creature on her feet. The creature had markings Kira haven't seen before in her whole existence.
The green creature, once seeing her complete innocence, smiled then neared the girl by an inch.
"I am a snake." The slithering being offered an answer to her obvious questions.
"A sn-snake?" Kira repeated, indeed, she never had heard such weird name.
"Yes, a snake. Haven't you seen one in your life, you little girl?" The snake hissed angrily at her. It seems like this snake's a haughty one.
"Not exactly... My, you have such wonderful skin," Kira said mesmerizing as she stared at the snake's skin.
One could easily perceive that this snake is poisonous and might be very deadly but not Kira. Kira was too starstrucked by it's appearance that she was taken over by her genuine curiosity.
"Oh this old thing? This is just used for me to kill," the snake said proudly.
"Then we are from the same purpose." Kira neared the snake and tried to resist the temptation to touch it.
The snake, obviously taken aback by her answer, inquired threateningly. "What are you?"
"I am Kira," she said indifferently as she stared at it even longer.
The green creature, clearly annoyed by her ignorant response, hissed then asked again. "No, I need not of your name. I am asking, what are you?"
"Kira."
The snake drew an impatient sigh then eyed her suspiciously. "You are certainly not from here."
"I certainly am."
This caught the snake's full attention. As you may know the snake by now sensed that Kira was no ordinary creature. So as soon as he realized her growing interest over his body, he smiled inwardly then said, "Child, do you want to touch me?"
"Yes."
"Then what are you waiting for? Touch my skin with your heart's desire! I don't bite."
With this, Kira enthusiastically closed the gap between them then felt the snake's skin against her fingertips.
"You have such nice skin."
"Oh yes, I know." The snake too was stunned to discover of how soft Kira's skin was. It was the grandest sight he ever saw. Her skin was porcelain white yet as soft as a baby's. Indeed, this was one prey the snake couldn't let go off.
While Kira was busy touching its skin, the snake gradually slithered its way to Kira's left arm. Once Kira saw the snake's body wrapped her arm, she stifled a laugh.
"That tickles, Mr. Snake."
"Oh, really? Isn't my skin the best thing you could ever see and feel in your life?"
"Yes it is."
The conniving creature observed Kira as she was enjoying herself. "You are so delicious," the snake said out loud.
Kira looked at him funnily then smiled. "Oh I see, the creatures here appreciate each other's taste. What a funny planet this is."
The snake eyed her oddly. "Where do you come from?"
"From up there."
"Where?"
"Up there."
The snake sighed tiredly on her arm then said to himself, "I really hate stupid girls like you. It's a good thing though, you are my supper."
"Little girl, have you ever been bitten by a snake?"
"I believe I haven't been, sir."
"Well, today's your lucky day." The snake's evil eyes were glistening with malice. Kira saw the fire in his eyes and had a nagging feeling that something wasn't right. The snake positioned itself against her arm and was readying itself for the final kill.
"What do you mea-"
"Hey! Watch out!"
Kira tried to retort but was cut short, a deep voice suddenly came out of nowhere. She scanned her surroundings but her sight was blurry. She felt that something heavy was inside her. Kira then sensed a funny sensation on her arm, it was tingling.
She eyed the snake and was overcame with terror. The snake pierced its fangs directly on her skin. No blood was oozing out of her yet the venom intoxicated her body. She tried to wriggle the snake off but it was useless. The killer creature's eyes were bloodshot.
"Hey! Get off her!" the deep voice seemed louder and louder now.
Kira fixed her vision on the owner and saw nothing but shades of black and bright green. She concentrated even more on the figure and at last saw a blurry image of a male.
She felt a tinge of pride in her ability yet this was shattered by the ever disturbing presence of the snake's fangs on her. Then without warning, everything was pitch black.
