Y/N POV
You woke up and clutched at the sides of your head. The world's worst headache had chosen you as it's victim today. You slowly sat up and realised you didn't recognise your surroundings.
"Where... am... I?" you muttered under your breath, looking around confusedly. You looked to be in some kind of shed or garage. You were laying on a bundle of blankets in the corner furthest from the door. The door was next to one of those automatic grates for vehicles to enter and exit and there was a car in front of that. The car obscured your view of the door from your position on the floor.
You shakily stood up so you could try the handle on the door, but the sound of clinking metal distracted you. You could barely believe that you had been shackled to the wall of the garage by a short chain secured around your ankle. "What the fuck?" you asked no one in particular.
Suddenly, you could hear footsteps approaching the garage door. The door opened to reveal a man you felt deep down you had met before, but your headache was too painful for you to try and focus on remembering that. "Ahh, you're awake," the man said. He closed the door carefully behind himself and locked it with a key, then turned to look at you again. He walked slowly around the rear of the car and stopped about two meters in front of you. The dim light from the misted windows illuminated his features just enough for you to see the horrifying expression plastered across them. You shuddered.
"Do you remember me, (Y/N)?" the man asked.
You wracked your brains to try and remember where you knew him from, but you were drawing blanks. Maybe he was a customer to the parlour, or a member of university staff. Either way, all you could do was shake your head.
"Ahh, I suppose our meeting was short and sweet. My name is Yoshikage Kira. You bumped into me once, and I haven't been able to forget you since." Under different circumstances, this declaration could have been considered sweet, but with the look on Kira's face sending shivers down your spine it was all you could do to stop yourself from screaming. You could feel the ill intent rolling off of him in waves.
Steadying yourself by clearing your throat, you asked "how do you know my name? And what am I doing chained to a wall?"
Kira took a step towards you. You involuntarily stepped back. He kept walking until he was only a foot in front of you and your back was against the wall. You instinctively raised your hands to protect your face.
"Get away from me!" you shouted, but he didn't listen. Instead, Kira took one of your hands in his and placed it against his cheek.
"So soft, so beautiful," Kira crooned, not to you, but to your hand. You could only stand there, mouth hanging open in shock and confusion, trying to remember the specific events that had lead up to this point in your life. In your eighteen years on the earth you had never experienced anything so simultaneously confusing and scary. The whole thing was entirely bizarre.
You gasped, suddenly remembering where you were before you got here. The fair! You were walking and talking with Josuke, nothing out of the ordinary there. Koichi and Okuyasu were there too, walking just ahead of you. Then you don't remember anything but waking up in this garage. You started to panic, your breathing coming in shorter and shorter bursts, your palms and the nape of your neck perspiring but not from the summer heat. You started wondering about what Josuke, Okuyasu and Koichi were doing. Were they still at the fair? Did they even notice you were missing? Were they worried about you? You were broken out of your thoughts by Kira suddenly addressing you.
"(Y/N), normally I wouldn't do all of this" he said, gesturing to the garage and the chain around your ankle, "but there's someone I wanted you to meet." He reached into the inside pocket of his grey suit and pulled out a polaroid picture. "Father, this is the one I mentioned."
Josuke's POV
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!"
I looked all over that damn fair with Koichi and Okuyasu, but there was no sign of them anywhere. Truthfully, I was getting pretty worried. We kept going back to the place we last saw (Y/N), but there weren't many clues, just a row of stalls selling souvenirs and food.
"Could they have gone down there?" Okuyasu thought out loud, walking towards a gap in the stalls. I walked over with him, examining the area for what felt like the billionth time.
"Let me walk down and look for anything suspicious," Koichi offered. Whilst he did that, Okuyasu and I continued our search for clues, both of us coming up empty handed.
"Guys!" Koichi called us over to the stalls. "There's a gap in the fence behind there! You wouldn't see it from the main fair!"
I bolted down to the fence, Koichi and Okuyasu on my heels. There were some grooves in the dirt at the bottom of the gap in the fence that, even though it looked like someone had tried to cover them, definitely could have been drag marks. "Let's see where the other side of this fence leads to," I said. The three of us squeezed through the fence and ended up in a residential area. There was access to a main road on the right and an alleyway that allowed entry to the back of people's houses and gardens on the left. I noticed some houses had conservatories and garages and others just had gardens.
"Why would (Y/N) come down here?" Okuyasu questioned, scratching his chin.
"They wouldn't," Koichi said. "Not without telling us where they were going first."
"Assuming (Y/N) did come through here, I imagine it wasn't by choice," I said. I hadn't meant to make it sound so morbid, but the other two nodded in silent agreement. There had been a lot of disappearances in Morioh recently, and it didn't sound too far-fetched to imagine that someone could have gone missing from a busy fair. Why did it have to be (Y/N) though? The pit in my stomach grew with feelings of unease.
"No sense just standing around, we need to look for them," Koichi snapped me out of my thoughts. "If (Y/N) has been... kidnapped..." he swallowed, "then we need to act faster than this!"
A/N
Been a hot minute since I updated this! I hope this chapter is satisfactory. I'm going to try and write longer chapters I think. The story is definitely progressing though!!
