KEEFE'S POV
Marella was right with one thing.
Deep down in my heart, I'd always have feelings for Sophie. It was impossible to get rid of them.
Her brown eyes. Flowing blonde hair. The way she smiled at him when she said hello. The way she used to blush when he'd make jokes to her.
I sighed and pulled out my drawing pad. I guess today would be the day I'd drawing Sophie.
I started outlining her body, shading in parts, but saving her beautiful eyes for last. But it wasn't until I gazed at the finished drawing until I realized something.
I'd drawn every single one of my friends in my drawing book.
Except for Marella.
Just then there was a knock at my door. It scared me so bad I practically jumped out my bed, throwing my drawing pad up in the air. As Ro told me a few minutes later, I looked like a vermin about to get chopped in half. I shivered. How would SHE knowing what a vermin about to get chopped in half look like?
" Seriously, you're getting antsy there boy," Ro giggled and leaned against my door frame.
" Don't scare me like that again!" I yelled at her.
" Woah. What's going on? Can't read your own emotions?" Ro smirked at me and took another step into my room.
"Stop right there." I pointed a finger at her. Ro, of course, came straight into my room and right to my bed where my drawing pad was lying across my bedsheets.
" Drawing your perfect little moonlark?"
" Sophie is not my perfect little moonlark," I snapped at her.
" Listen Sencen, I know you still have feelings for Foster, but forget them. You're marry fire colored hair girl. What's her name again?" Ro tapped her chin.
" Marella," I said, feeling a little sorry for not mentioning my fiance around Ro as much as I'd mentioned Sophie.
" You know," I blurted out, " I've been thinking. I've decided to break off my engagement with Marella."
Ro raised an eyebrow at me. " Okkkk? Why?"
" It wasn't meant to be," I explained. " I've been thinking about it a lot. Some things have changed, I guess."
" How's fire haired girl gonna feel about this?"
I sighed heavily. " Not very happy." I grimaced. " I can already imagine what she's gonna say......"
So, half an hour later, I was standing at Marella's door.
" Keefe?" Marella looked VERY confused.
" I need to tell you something," I looked down at my feet.
" What?"
" I think we should cut off our engagement," I blurted out. " It wasn't meant to be. I'm sorry Marella, but-"
" HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?" Marella screamed. " MY LIFE IS RUINED BECAUSE OF YOU! HOW COULD YOU HURT ME LIKE THIS?"
A single tear pricked at my eyelid but I blinked it back, trying to stay calm. " Marella, you have to understand that-"
" I don't understand!" Marella yelled. " You've hurt me a lot, Keefe!"
" I know." My throat felt choked up. " I can make it up to you. I'll do anything-"
" You can just stand there. Just stand there and don't move." Marella's voice was oddly emotionless.
Seconds later, flames were surrounding me.
