Chapter Eight

SOPHIE'S POV

I watched as Linh walked up the isle, her white dress billowing behind her. She looked absolutely gorgeous. 

" I'm glad things worked out between them after all," I whispered to Fitz. 

He nodded and made the shh motion with his finger. I grinned.

Forty-five minutes later, we were settled in the reception hall, where Dex and Linh were recounting where they first met. 

The library. 

The two words sparked a certain memory......

I walked into the library. He was in there, the really cute elf with dark brown hair and the perfect smile that made my heart-oops. Ah, oh well.

" Hi," I said, setting my books down on the table next to him. He looked up at me, and flashed me a movie star smile, making me feel warm all over. 

" Need help?" He offered as I sat down and pulled out a pencil. 

" No, err, not really!" I tripped over the words. My cheeks felt as if they were on fire, and I'm sure they looked like the color of red. 

" Okay," Fitz said, and went back to working. 

Dang it. Know I knew I wouldn't be able to concentrate. Yep. I just HAD to talk to him. 

One word, Sophie, you got this, one word, I chanted in my brain. 

I held my books up to Fitz. " My favorites heros of the elvin days um, were, um," I scanned the page. " Uh, um, Malia Gorden and Balin Theroughs." 

Ooops. Did I really just blurt something stupid out like that?

I buried my face in my hands, silently groaning. Uhhhggggg, why did I do that?

" I like them too," Fitz's crisp accented voice said. I slowly lifted my head up and looked at him. 

"  Really?" I asked, and in that moment, our eyes locked. Time seemed to stop, and nothing could break our focus to each other apart.

Well, until the library door was swung open, and someone walked in. Of course we broke our gaze and went back to working. 

I think that was the start of our perfect relationship. 

I looked over at Fitz and smiled, even though he couldn't see me do so. I laid my head on his shoulder and he grinned down at me, one of his hands resting on my stomach. 

We were going to have the best baby.
