FITZ'S POV
" We better go, Soph," I called, flinging the door open.
" Coming!" My wife called, bending over to pull on her second boot and grimacing in the process.
" Alright," She said breathlessly. " Let's go."
We stepped outside and I held my pathfinder to the light, but as we were about to be whisked away, Sophie gasped.
" What? Is something wrong?" I asked, putting the pathfinder down.
" Uhhh," She glanced at her watch. " Do we have time to stop at the market? I need that tofu for dinner."
" Time?" I asked.
" Three fourty," She replied. " Our appointment isn't until four."
I nodded briskly. " Okay. Let's go." I once more held up my pathfinder to the light.
We were whisked into the light and landed in the market.
" Oooh, over there!" Sophie exclaimed excitedly. She picked some pieces she wanted and they paid for them.
Somehow, we ran into Keefe and Marella.
" My, my, my, how many pieces of mallowmelt did you eat last night?" Keefe joked, looking at Sophie's enlarged belly.
" Maybe one, or two," Sophie stuck her tounge out at her old friend.
" It was three," I interrupted truthfully.
" Hey!" Sophie nudged my playfully.
" We better be going." I said.
" Oooh, is this "the" appointment?" Marella asked eagerly.
Sophie and I nodded.
" We'll let you know how it goes!" We waved goodbye and we stepped once more into the light.
" Hi, Sophie and Fitz!" Elwin called from inside his office.
" I've got everything set up," He told us as we walked closer.
Elwin told Sophie to sit down while he did some x-rays, flashing blue lights around Sophie.
Then, he brought out some of the photos. His face was unusually grim.
" Is....something wrong?" Sophie asked slowly, noticing his facial expressions.
Elwin nodded. He thrust the photos at us.
Sophie gasped, and I just stood there blankly, not able to process the new information.
This. Could. Not. Be. Happening.
