(At the dance)

Henry's P.O.V:

Me and Ellie were standing in front of the school and Ellie looked at me and smiled.

"I'm so done with my parents," she said jokingly.

"Where are you gonna go now?"

"I can rent an apartment or something, it's not a big deal."

I looked down, it was a big deal. Her own parents disowned her...

She acted like it was okay, but it's not.

We're just in 8th grade and she has no home to go back too.

No one left for her.

Well, except me.

I looked back at her and smiled. "So are we gonna go in? We've been waiting for this moment for like- 2 months."

She nods and says, "Who need's lovers?"

We both walked in and inside, there were a bunch of teenagers dancing, eating, and having fun. I l looked around and noticed Delilah standing there with her friends. They looked like they're fighting, so I nuggded Ellie and walked over.

"You broke up with him?!"

"No," Lila said, "I didn't-"

"No buts," the leader girl said, "I thought you were cool, but you used us!"

"You're delusional!"

"What did you just say to me?!"

The leader girl shoved Lila and she fell to the floor. One of the girl's lackeys had splashed a full cup of punch on her dress and laughed. The whole room laughed.

I was about to go up to those son-of-a-bitches, but Ellie stepped in and sucker punched the girl.

"What the fuck?!"

She looked at Ellie and it looked like it was about to get physical, until the principal came and broke things up.

The principal sent Ellie and Delilah out of the dance and helped that bitch-let to the nurse's office.

"What a bitch..," I said under my breath.

I looked around and noticed some familiar faces leaning against the wall. I walked up, and it was our group, Reginald, Right-hand-man, Sven, and Burt.

I ran up to them and said, "Hey guys!"

Reg looked at me and said, "Henry, where have you been? We haven't seen you for weeks!"

I looked down and said, "It's kind of complicated.. Anyways, have you heard? Mr. Perfect got worse grades than us!"

They all gasped sarcastically and Sven said, "Wow, det är episkt!"

I chuckled and said, "We still don't speak Swedish, Sven."

He rolled his eyes and Burt pat his back.

"So who'd ya go with, 'enry?," RHM asked.

I smiled and said, "I asked someone, but they said no."

"Well, fuck them," Reginald said while patting me on the shoulder, "Their loss."

I looked at the moon from the window on top of the gym and smiled.

The moon's so pretty tonight..

I realized Ellie and Lila had gone outside earlier, so I went to spy on them.

When I walked up, I was shocked at what was happening.

There Ellie was, holding Lila's hand as they make out on the bench.

"Wow," I said while smirking.

They both looked back at me and Ellie smiles.

"Way to go, Romeo."

"Same to you, Juliet..," I said while rolling my eyes.

Lila looked at me and blushed a little, then she said, "I used to call Charles gay, but here I am!"

I smile a little, just thinking about him.

Even though he rejected me, he's still my best friend...

I guess I could go try to make-up with him, who knows?

Maybe I can save our friendship without making it awkward.

I looked over at Ellie as she said, "Earth to Henry, what'cha thinking about?"

I looked at her back and said, "Nothing much."

Delilah looked at me and said, "Hey, what happened to Charles?"

"I dunno..," I said.

"He came to me in a panic earlier, saying stuff like 'I fucked up' and things like that. When I asked him, he said he really messed things up this time. He also said he hurt you without knowing, and now you're mad," she said while looking down.

I stared out in the distance, seeing a bush with roses. I walked up and grabbed one, clutching it carefully so the thorns don't hurt me.

I looked at it and smiled.

I looked over at Ellie and said, "Well, you guys continue, I have to be somewhere."

She smirked at me and said, "Go for it. And remember, you're naming you guy's child Ellie, right?"

I shook my head and said, "In your dreams."
