**Harry's POV**
I woke up with a start. I don't even know what my dream was anymore. All I remember is seeing Caroline cry, and I couldn't reach her. But someone else did.
I got up quietly from the couch where both Caroline and I fell asleep, and went to the kitchen and got a glass of water.
'This isn't fair. I thought. Darcy didn't deserve to die, and Caroline didn't deserve to be this hurt. I would've gladly taken the cancer. I would've gladly taken Darcy's place.'
'But you can't.' The more negative side of my thoughts brought up. And I again felt empty. For a second, and just a second, I considered grabbing a beer. But I decided against it. What's the point anyway? It wouldn't solve my problem. It'd just keep me from sleeping and make me want more and more until I got a headache. Not to mention Caroline wouldn't be very happy.
To clear my head, I walked over to the back door and opened it as quietly as I possibly could. I switched on the patio light and grabbed the sweatshirt off the stool before closing the door behind me. I walked past the chairs, off the patio and laid down on the grass instead.
'What am I even doing anymore? Caroline has like four months left, or three, maybe two. Not really sure. Anyway, this baby is coming and then what? Caroline stays here for a few months to a year and then leaves me for someone else? I don't want that. That is the very last thing I want. I want her. I want the baby. I want to live the rest of my life knowing she loves me and telling her the same thing. I wa-'
My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the patio door opening then closing.
"I thought I saw you out here." Caroline said when she came over and after a big effort, sat down next to me.
"Just needed to think." I stated simply.
"About?"
""Everything."
She nodded.
"You should go inside. Its pretty chilly out." I said after a little bit.
"I should tell you the same thing."
"I have a sweatshirt."
"I have a blanket." She said referring to the one draped over her shoulders. "what's your point?"
I couldn't help but give a small smile at the fact that we can argue about the stupidest things. She surprised me by smiling a little, too.
She continued to surprise me when she laid back and rested her head on my chest.
"Harry?" She asked.
"Yeah?"
She hesitated for a moment. "Do you still love me?"
I felt my heart speed up, hoping this was going where I wanted it to. "More than anything."
She struggled to sit back up, but when she finally managed, she looked straight into my eyes.
"Good." she said. "Because I love you, too."
