The high noon brought forth its generous heat and humidity. At this time, everyone in the village lies down on their duyan resting after a long work in the morning. Suspiciously, the next day is harvest day of the crops in hainnes in which the soldiers may have an intel about their village.

The elders fully aware of this are startled because of the sudden decision of their leader's daughter. However, they cannot interfere with her decision...

Kisishtria's POV

"I know but we need to avoid conflict especially when our father is gone."
I said.

"Still we cannot disregard the truth that mercenaries do not follow any rules."
The villagers replied,

"How sure are you that we can trust this army?"

"We have hopes for you, young kisishtria but isn't it too hasty for you to make a decision?"
The elders said.

"Sire Opyhion is not known to our homeland, we should be wary of him and his army."
a villager worriedly said.

"I understand your point everyone that is why I will protect and take responsibility for our village."
I said.

"Aiishh eesh, sister if you need me, just go to the place where I have always been."
Roseph said.

"Okay, let your older sister handle it!"
I said with a thumbs up to my brother.

"Whatever."
Roseph said.

"Yeesh! that guy really still has a lot to grow."
I said to myself.

Mouths were shut when hundreds of men arrived, on their right were fierce men aligned in a zigzag position and each holding their sibat along with a karambit. The front were horsemen aligned in a tatsulok manner. And the rest was at ease and scattered.

Aarrmmyyyyyyyy haaallllltt!
Opyhion commanded.

Very well, I shall keep my word.
Opyhion said.

I'm grateful for your decision sire Opyhion.
I said.

I then waved my hands towards our humble home to discuss on how we will accomodate them.

The general quickly obeys and walks behind me

"Wise elders, please assist me on helping the soldiers stay here for the night."
I said to them before getting inside our home.

"Greetings to you all, again my name is Opyhion and I mean no harm to your people as long as you help us."
He bows after explaining himself.

"It is an honor to know you, we the elders are only here to guide our young leader and we do not want to share our names with you if you don't mind."
The elders said.

"No, I don't mind at all."
Sire Opyhion answered.

"So what brings someone like you here, a leader of a mercenary?"
I asked.

"I am afraid I cannot tell you about it."
He said.

"But it is a matter of an internal conflict of this country."
He continued.

"Wait, what do you mean about a country?"
I said.

"A long time ago before the unprecedented war, your village and the villages we have travelled are part of the country, Mialte.
Its been so long that I presumed that your people here might have forgotten that you are Mialtesians."

"Furthermore, how do you plan to accompany me and my army for the night?"
He said.

The elders clasped their hands and slowly drops it which meant that we cannot provide enough shelter for them.

"For the food and water, feel free to ask us the elders for we make them ourselves for the village."
The elders said.

"Oh, we have extra nipa houses that are welcome for guests and if you may, I will need to ask you to use your own supplies like tents, cushions and such."
I said.

"Very well!
I am looking forward to your dishes, wise elders and young leader it is great to be in good terms..."
Sire Opyhion said but was interrupted.

A soldier shouts at the general from afar.

"Sire!
Sire!"

"The bounty is here!"
He shouts it repeatedly while not even minding that he is running out of breath.

Suddenly time has stopped for me, as if I was pierced by a spear thrown far away from the south.
Everything became empty, as if a person dressed in truth in his words but ended up being drenched in a bloody lie while it ate the sun whole and...and...

"There and there I pinched myself dry, thinking t'was a dream..."
"Little did I know that the peace that I sought to be beside the light I hold, then shattered."

"Make sure to throw in that magic unto them.
Ah, you poor little things..."

--------------------------------------------------

The swirling wind soothe the hair of the young leader, drenched with ashes of the fine odor of innocence.
She soon finds herself naked, while holding on to her heart.

She saw everything they worked hard turned to dust.
The lake of blood, she bathe with along with some bones left scattered around the land of each houses.

Opyhion's POV

Tinen tenen ten then tinen biroom biromdom...
The sound of guitars, harps, lute and nakers graciously plays on a feast of glorious men and women.

"Everything went well for our mission señoritas and señoritos."
I said.

"Let's drink for the yearnings of our hearts and strike every foe passionately!"
I said in a cheerful manner.

"Si señor Opyhion!"
The crowd said.

Viva Espanya!
I shouted.

Viva!
The crowd said in turn.

It was in the middle of the night, after the bountiful feast. As there lies the defiled and foul little beast caged like a bird beneath the large wooden gallion. Gnawing on the metal like its teeth were made to grind it.

Mmmhhhrrrhhhrrrr! Aaerrrrhhhh!

Mmmmhhmmrrr!
the beast continues to roar but was silenced by the cloth hanging on its mouth.

I walked down dancing, circling around, clapping on my chest and thighs like there's no more days ahead for me.
"In all my missions this was the best I could hope for."

"I can now buy mi amor's golden dream with me as the hero of spain.
However..."

"As my last toes touched the ground, there is this presence.
I knew it was him."

"My fate to be's Diablo."
I said to myself.

As soon as I turned the light to where the cage of the beast, the floor was as crispy as a rusted plate twisted by a kapre.
This beast was no ordinary one, it had teeth as long as a tiger's claw, horns shaped similar to a bull and grew tiny thorns from its back.

"Very well, I shall show you my power, diablo!"
I said with confidence.
