Fifteen minutes before Marcus's game we were walking around the park, then I saw him, my old crush who had gotten mad at me for spending so much time with Marcus, we weren't even dating and he was STILL super over protective of me. But he came up to us and looked Marcus up and down "she's not into baseball boys" he whispered in Marcus's ear "just go the fuck away Justin" I yelled at him "so, this your new little boyfriend, makes sense, you do like the ones with curly hair" he pointed to his hair, then he threw himself onto me and tried to kiss me, "ok that's enough" Marcus grabbed him by the shirt "if you EVER mess with y/n again I will mess you up" Justin ran away after that, "thanks Marcus" "no big deal, anything for my best friend" I looked down, "hey what's wrong?" "You wouldn't understand" "y/n, I think I'm a pretty understanding guy, just tell me" "ok fine, but nothing will change right?" "Right" "Marcus I think I..like you, more than a friend.." then he kissed me. "Oh shit, what time is it?" I checked my phone, "you've still got 10 minutes so just you know, take it easy" "you're right, but we should probably start to head back don't you think?" "Yeah" "oh and y/n" "yes Marcus?" "I think I like you too, more than a friend" he winked at me and then we continued walking to the batting cage. When we got down there we saw Justin, he was on the bleachers, he jumped down and tried to kiss me again, Marcus punched him "what did I tell you about messing with her" "I didn't realize that you were here" "it shouldn't make a difference, you need to learn that y/n is off limits at the moment" "she's taken?! By who?!" "By me, now I don't wanna see you messing with her EVER again, do you hear me? EVER" Marcus spit on him and went into the batting cage. I grabbed my dog and sat on the ground in front of the fence, I took Jupiter's (my dog) paw and waved at Marcus with it, he laughed and went back to playing. The first time the ball got pitched he got scared and looked to me for reassurance, I smiled and gave him a thumbs up, the second time he hit a home run, but his eyes were locked on the sky, the dark, stormy looking thing that was heading towards the earth, everyone was yelling at him to run to the home plate but he just couldn't take his eyes off the thing. Who knew this would be the last day things would be normal.
