"Wait, your father is THE Alpha of the Nightshade Pack?"

"Mmhmm. Alpha of the strongest pack, well second now."

"Jeremiah's pack may be number one and the strongest out there, but our pack has more enemies than the rest of the packs combined."

"Are there a lot of fights here?" I ask, as I shift in my spot, "I only ask, because my daughter is here now."

"Well, there haven't been any vampire attacks here for like five years."

"Vampires?"

"They attack the most."

"But I thought vampires weren't real."

"What are we?" She asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Werewolves." I laugh, "Point taken."

"Exactly." She laughs, as I frown slightly, "You okay?"

"Yeah," I laugh, "I just hate attacks, fights, or wars."

"If you don't mind me asking, what happened to make you feel that way?"

"Well, my pack had this horrible Rogue attack about eight months ago. My mate, Lucian, was Luciana's father and the head warrior of the pack. So I always hated the thought of fighting."

"I'm so sorry." She says, giving me a reassuring smile.

"Thank you Lilith," I smile, "But to be truthful, that's what everyone has said to me. I'm sick and tired of hearing those words."

"I-"

"Everyone in my family stopped everything that they were doing. For two months, they did nothing. Those two months were hell. I just wanted to be alone."

"Oh god."

"Shortly after that attack, we had back to back Rogue attacks. So many people died."

"I remember that." Lilith whispers.

"Sometimes," I tear up looking at my hands, "I wish Lucian never died. If he didn't none of this wouldn't have happened."

"Zelda, you don't mean any of that."

"I do."

"Zelda." Lilith says, standing up.

"What?" I ask, standing up and staring at Lilith in the eyes.

"You cannot be serious."

"I AM OKAY! I AM!" I scream.

"Zelda."

"My mate would be here, he would be here raising HIS daughter. His daughter, Lilith."

"Zelda..."

"Everything would've been perfect."

"Zelda." Lilith says.

"No, I'm not done. Jeremiah only took me in to be a mate. To hide away. Be a stupid Luna. I never asked to be one. I don't want to live a life like this. I just want Lucian back. That's all I ask!"

"Zelda." She says, again, gesturing behind me. I turn around, my eyes widened.

"Jeremiah."

"Now I know how you feel." I freeze, staring at Jeremiah, who was standing by my open door.

"Jeremiah." I take a step forward and stop, "I'm sorry."

"Forget it. I thought I'd take my mate on a date," He turns around, "Guess I was wrong."

"Jeremiah, please let me explain." I say, grabbing his arm. He flinches, before turning around to face me.

"Don't bother."

"Jeremiah, please let me explain."

"Don't bother." He says, yanking his arm out of my hand. I watch as he walks out of my room. I stand by the door, watching my mate disappear down the hallway. I go back into my room.

"Lilith?"

"Go after him, I'll watch Luciana."

"Thank you." I smile, before grabbing a hoodie, putting it on, and running after my mate.

After many minutes of following Jeremiah, I see him walk past a double door. Pulling my hood over my head, I peek around the corner. I see Jeremiah standing in the center of this indoor garden. I watch as Jeremiah squats down in front of something. It was hard to see what it was, I lick my lips as I try to listen to what's happening.

"I failed mama. I failed. She hates me so much mama." I hear a fault in his voice, he was crying, "I know she lost her mate. I just want her to be happy. Both her and her daughter. I'm so scared. Scared of being anyway close to her or her daughter. I don't want them to be hurt by me screwing up." My eyes water, as I walk into the room, "I just want them to know that I care. I'm just scared."

"You have nothing to be scared of Jeremiah." I say, as I watch his back stiffens.

"Why are you here?" He snaps.

"I want to apologize." I say, walking up to him. I place my hand on his back, "Please."

"Fine." he says, standing up, making it so we were inches from each other, "What?"

"My heart broke into a million pieces when Lucian died. I know that you are my mate. I just hope you understand that I would do anything I could in my power to see him again."

"Why would you? He's dead."

"I was with him for years before getting pregnant, Jeremiah. You would understand."

"But why?"

"Well, I wanted to thank him for giving me the world. The world? My baby girl. I'd tell him my life is perfect right now and that I am happy now. Because of what he has given me."

"What?"

"Look," I lick my lips, looking up at him, "I'm so so happy that you are my mate. First or secondary. I don't care. You are my mate. Here and now Jeremiah. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You are the man I want. Luciana is happy." He leans down and kisses me. We kiss for a few seconds, before he pulls away.

"I-I need to go." He says, stepping back from me.

"Jer-"

"Pack stuff." He turns and walks away. He leaves me standing in the middle of the indoor garden. I look around, and see exactly where Jeremiah was standing by.

"Oh god." I whisper, covering my mouth. I fall down to my knees, looking at the headstone. I watch as it says, 'Gracelynn Thea Throndsen. Beloved mother. Beloved Wife. Beloved Sister.' Covering my mouth, tears fall down my face.

"Hello." I let out a shaky breath, "My name is Zelda. I'm your son, Jeremiah's mate. He's actually my secondary mate. I know I hurt his feelings, but I promise to you. I will fix everything. I swear on my life." I stand up, wiping the tears from my face. I stand there, staring down at the headstone. Staring at the name.

"Goodbye Gracelynn." I whisper, before running away.
