Chapter 11

11 (final copy)

Jeremiah and I ran into the castle, where we met up with Zermaine and Lilith. I go straight up to Lily, pulling her over to the stairs. I sit her down and hug her tightly. I rub her back, as she cries into my shoulder. I pull away, putting my hands on her cheeks, looking her in the eyes.

"It's okay." I say, wiping her tears away,

"How are you not pissed at me right now?"

"Because Lilith, I trust you could do everything in your power to save her."

"I tried Zelda. I tried and failed."

"Tell me what happened?"

"So umm, thirty minutes before the first sighting. I put Luci down for bed."

"Okay."

"Umm, I had the monitor, went to my room and took a shower."

"Then what?"

"When I was making my way back to the room. The whole c-castle s-shook. I remember hearing Luciana crying. I remember running into her room, seeing the man who Jer said was Alistair. He had Luciana in his arms. I went to run at him, but he knocked me out and disappeared." She cried more, "I'm so sorry Zelda."

"Lily, hey hey." I say, "It's okay."

"How do you not hate me?"

"I can't hate my best friend."

"I didn't save her."

"Look, how about we have a sleepover?" I suggest, "Have a girl's night."

"What about Luci?"

"We need to take our minds off of this, let the guys take the wheel."

"But."

"Jeremiah and Zermaine will find her."

"Lily?" We look up and see Zermaine, "We need to talk."

"Okay. See you later." She says to me, before following Zermaine.

I stay on the stairs for a few minutes. Just sitting and staring at the ground. I feel my body shake. I was holding all the tears I had back. I wipe some stray tears away, as I hear footsteps. I look up and see Jeremiah standing in front of me. I watch as he walks over, sitting down next to me. He wraps his arms around me. He pulls me into his chest as I break down in tears.

"I-I c-can't believe m-my b-baby is g-gone." I cry out.

"Let it out." He says, rubbing my back.

"Can I just be left alone?"

"You can't be alone."

"Jeremiah please just leave me alone." I say, unwrapping his arms and standing up.

I turn and make my way up to my room. I slam the door shut, locking the door. I rest my back against the door, as I lean my head back. I take another breath, making my way over to Luciana's nursery. I walk past the double doors into her room. I run both of my hands through my hair, as I look around the room. I stare at the broken window, the cold wind blowing through. I shudder, before feeling a few tears fall down. I wipe my tears, as I make my way to the broken window. Taking another breath, I look up at the moon.

"I will find you, baby girl. I swear to the Moon Goddess." Then I walked out of the room. 

I stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my hair and body. Walking into my closet, I put on a black shirt and light pink silk shorts. I put on some matching pink socks, before walking into the bathroom. Taking my towel off of my hair, I dry it, brush it, and braid it. I do some skincare, before putting my glasses on. I grab my phone, pressing the FaceTime button, as I walk out of the bathroom. I smile, seeing the faces of Miles and Maya.
