The next morning the bed was empty. It was evident Emiliano had an early morning. His bed was partially covered with his clothes, somewhere on the floor and the bathroom door was still open and there were water prints on the floor there also. Gosh, he was messy. How I didn't hear him make this mess was a mystery. I got up from the bed and decided the least I could do was spread the bed I slept on and mop his floor but that was it. I was going to leave the rest for his house help, honestly, I had no idea where to begin.

After I was done tidying up I opened the door slightly and peeped into the hallway before I did my walk of shame to my room. I was grateful I didn't bump into anyone especially Tessa or Dmitry. I knew that Emiliano and I didn't get intimate or anything but I did not want to have to explain that either.

When I got to my room my immediate thought was to take a shower but that was before I spotted the small red and pink box on my bed. I curiously walked towards it and there was a note next to it that read "Miss Lexington" in exaggerated italic writing. I loved presents so I didn't really care who it was from although my money was on Emiliano. He and I had been getting along well these past few weeks.

I opened the box and in it was a silver charm bracelet with one of the charms engraved with the word heaven on it. I was completely mesmerized as I held it in my hands in admiration before I tried to put it on my wrist. Then there was a knock on my door which made me startle and the bracelet fall from my hands.

"I see you got my present," Emilano said opening the door and walking into my room.

"Yeah," I said with a wide smile as he picked it from the bed and helped me put it on. He smelled amazing, I wondered why he was back so soon, it's was only 9 am. His hair was still neatly combed and his long-sleeved shirt was still neatly tucked in his dress pants, I was almost starting to think he didn't even go for work.

"Why did you get it for me though?" I said when he had fastened it. It made my not so admirable hand look so elegant. My fingers were not the prettiest, I grow up with a habit of biting my nails so it gave them a weird shape when I decided to stop and I wasn't an artificial nail girl either.

"A thank you would suffice," he said taking a seat on my bed.

"It's beautiful. " I said smiling at my wrist. " I just didn't expect it."

"Well. A diamond for a diamond. "He winked at me making me grin like a sixteen-year-old who had just been asked to prom.

"Thank you." I looked away from him when I felt my cheeks flush.

"Come here," he said tapping on the bed next to him. " I was hoping to have a moment with you."

"Oh," I suddenly got worried. "Is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine," he said with enthusiasm. " I just wanted to apologize."

"Apologise?" I looked at him curiously.

"For last night." I could almost see a glimmer of embarrassment as he spoke, it was amusing. "For making you pay for my..... ill-mannered behavior. "

"You mean babysitting a drunk man?" I said taking full advantage of the clear upper hand I hand.

He glared at me and raised his eyebrow. "Yes. "

"It's okay Emiliano," I said with a restrained laugh. " I got to see a different side of Emiliano. Very different. Then I was left with the question ' do all intimidating men act like complete infants when they are drunk?'

"Is that why you left early from work? To apologize? "

"That, and I wanted to make it up to you. Maybe take you for ice cream or Oreos. Do you still like Oreos like when we were kids?"
