The next few weeks had to be so awkward, it was almost hilarious to live in the same house as Emiliano. He and I ignore each other like a plaque. It was was even more awkward because we lived in the same house. I understood that I pushed him to the edge but was it silly that I was hateful cause he, more or less, chose Rayn over me?
He spent most of his time home working from his office and getting better, when he was discharged which meant I was locked up in my room. I wasn't sure he wanted to talk to me either, he looked so bleak all the time. The only times I would see him was when I would change his bandage. I mean I didn't want him to smell even if we weren't on the best terms. Tessa and I were taught to do it by his doctor but she insisted I take up the job because he was her boss and she has boundaries. Bull. She could practically be his mother, she was over twelve years older than him.
I knocked on the door of his office like at always did at noon, that was the time he took his shower after physical therapy and have to have a bandage change. He was healing great and I was happy about that but due to the fracture on his left arm, he needed help when necessary, or where his big head could allow it. As he got better and stronger he began to do it his own and I would only find out when he gives me hand signals to turn back when I'm at the door of his office. That went on for a while until the doctor decided it was time he stopped wearing them completely.
Because of the toxicity in the environment, I decided I could not take it anymore and left his house to stay with Anny. Her varsity had closed for a three-week break but she, instead of leaving for home, rented an apartment. I liked it there, it was small and private, meaning we could watch and play loud music all we wanted and I didn't mind pitching in when it came to rent and groceries either. The only burden I came with was an army of bodyguards
"Babe, aren't you cooking for me today? " Anny through herself of the brown couch I'm the living room where I was.
"No," I answered and snorted.
"Graciella pleaseee," she said tagging onto my arm.
"No, I have been cooking for the past week." I paused the show I was watching. " All you do are the dishes."
"Isn't that enough though." She said sitting upright and looking at me playfully.
"I do the majority of them while I'm cooking. "
"Okay fine. I will do the dishes and clean the whole house next week if you cook, just for another week. " she looked at me pleadingly and I rolled my eyes at her. " Please babe, your food is so good."
"Fine but you clean the entire house. " I emphasized.
"Entire house," she confirmed with a smile.
Making meals wasn't entirely her thing. If I had a coin for every time she burnt her eggs, I would be a millionaire. My phone rang in my pocket and I took it out to see Jayana requesting a video call.
"Hello, Mrs. Iraedhu," I said when I picked up. She waved at me through her phone showing off her hand now with a silver band with diamonds around it while doing a little dance.
"Hey girl," she said and giggled
"Look at you," I gave her more hype. " happy and engaged. Give me your life right now. "
"Sorry babe, I'm still busy with it. " she joked.
"I bet. Does the ring come with a complimentary glow, cause you are glowing honey?"
She looked happier, she got engaged three weeks ago and every time I called her she was all smiley and was always bubbly. I mean who wouldn't be, she was getting married to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life as she called him.
