"Turn around," Jayana said moving closer. " Let me help you with covering that scar and possibly saving the both of us from being cut off."
She wrapper a towel around my hair and began soaking up the remaining water.
"Who am I kidding? I would never be cut off, your dad knows I'm responsible." She brought out some foundation and gently dabbed the blender on the scared area. " But you my friend, you will definitely get cut off. "
After a few dabs, she stood up straight and smiled with satisfaction. "There. Now to do your hair. " She got some product and massaged it in my hair and scalp.
As she worked through my hair I began to think about all the harsh things Jeffery said about them.
" Maybe I should stfaighten it?"
"Straighten it?" her eyebrows furrowed. "if you want to, but I like the curls." She began to comb through it." Like they were made for you big beautiful empty head." She planted a sloppy kiss on top of my head and I pushed her away with a chuckle.
Jayana had been my best and most trusted friend from freshmen year.Id you hadn't already guessed it yet, my dad was a tycoon who owned multiple chains of hotels and his own construction company, Solace Holdings. He had always been a generous person and through his company offered fully funded scholarships to multiple people from various institutions. As great as that sounded being a daughter of a tycoon wasn't all fun. I hardly had any friends and the few I did have where mostly after what I had. Jayana on the other hand was different.
Jayana was very different. While everyone looked at me like a golden goose she simply looked away. She made it very obvious from the beginning that she didn't like me. The first time I talked to her she asked me if I was lost and walked away. We only started to get along when she was assigned to be Immunology tutor. I liked to call her a super genius and as though that wasn't enough, she was insanely gorgeous. Her beautiful long brown hair swayed left to right whenever she walked, her body slim body screamed Victoria secrets model, her hazel round shaped eyes had all the guys doing double takes and to top it all off she was a free spirit with not a single care in the world.
As our friendship grew she made it clear that the only reason was cold with me was that she didn't want to be seen as a charity case because she didn't come from much. From then on we have been inseparable and had seen each other through thick and thin
"There," she put my hair in a high messy bun and finished it off with some hair spray. " Look at that, it brings out your empty head"
"Would you stop? I get it already, what I did was —not smart."
"I don't think you do. And I'm not stopping until you do too." She said walking into my closet. " Getting wasted because of Jeffrey Belcom? Belcom who used you for gas money and probably to pay off his student loan as well. " she walked out with a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
"You don't know that," I said taking them from her.
"Well, you don't either and that makes you stupid," She rose her voice.
"Why are you so angry anyway? " I rose my voice too. "It's not like I asked you to come and babysit me at the club."
"You didn't have to!" She yelled. " Look, " she closed her eyes and rubber her forehead, " You're my bestfriend Gracie and you know that whoever has to go through me first before they dare come at you. That included the entire army of drunk men drooling at you last night. "
"I know. " I smirked and I'm glad I did.
"Now get dressed. I'll keep your dad busy ."
