Perhaps he could have found some other way to save his fate from following the one his parents had designed for him. But at that moment, Draco felt so strongly that starting a family of his own, having a child he could love unconditionally, was the only thing that could truly change the course of his life. A life he chose and desired. A life built with love.

Draco knew that no one knew how strongly he felt. When he loved, he loved with all his heart. When he was in pain, he hurt with all its intensity. Not even his parents or his closest peers had known that he was an emotive person. He had been taught to view emotions and feelings as signs of weakness. He had never been able to freely feel and express all his emotions among others.

Whenever he recalls his time at Hogwarts, he remembers those years full of bottled up and suppressed shame, guilt, terror, intrigue, interest, and love.

He did not want to settle anymore for a life half lived. He knew he had so much love to give.

"Please, Healer Jonas. I have been yearning to start a family of my own for years now. I do not want to waste anymore time. I cannot disclose the specifics, but having a child of my own as soon as possible is imperative. I have a lot of love to give to this child of mine, and I am confident that I will try my best to give the child a life he or she deserves."

Healer Jonas felt compassion from the sincerity in his voice. After a moment of contemplation, she said,

"Mr. Malfoy, I cannot promise anything. However, I will contact the witches that have utilized our facility to inquire if any of them would be willing to make donations. I will keep you anonymous. However, if I am being honest here, I cannot imagine any of them agreeing to this."

Draco, grasping at what seemed to be his last hope, was not about to let it slip away from his hands.

"What if I write a letter? What if I write a letter so that the witches will be able to see where I am coming from? As you make inquiries, you can show them my letter as well."

Healer Jonas, surprised at how eager and desperate he seemed, agreed:

"Yes. That would definitely help matters, I believe. If you could send me the letter by owl this afternoon, I will send inquiries to the witches as soon as possible."

Draco, smiling for the first time today, thanked the healer and headed home to write the most compelling letter of his life.
