His family were very rich and powerful, being in contact occasionally even with the Shogun himself. He was taught finer arts, and was generally taught to be a noble. Not all was well however, as his father had some more than questionable business practices, and his mother was a large part of the criminal underworld of Japan, which lead to the city dwellers eventually storming the doors of their house when he was 13. His mother and father were killed, but he managed to get out and stumble into the forest. However, in the forest he encountered his first ever demon. He was beaten by it quite easily, and just as he thought it was about to kill it, it was quickly decapitated by a friend of his parent's. After that, the friend of his parents, named Shuchi, took him in. For a while, Sato struggled with grief and trauma of seeing his parents die, but after a while came to a somewhat harsh realization: they had played with things they shouldn't have, and deicided to be bad people, and got what they had sowed. Withthis, he was somewhat set at peace, deciding that revenge would be senseless violence. He then however quickly began to grow more interested in demon slaying business, since Shuchi turned out to be a retired demon slayer himself. Since he was a nobleman, he had already learned to wield a Katana, which reduced his training significantly. He was also a fast learner, managing to become strong enough to enter the Final Selection within 1 year and 6 months of beginning his training. He passed the Final selection, became a demon slayer, and has since then only gotten stronger over the years.
