Recovery: Part 4

Spencer and Olivia arrived at Dr. Spears' office.

They walk in and they see Dr. Spears and they introduced themselves before sitting down.

"So, Olivia, you called because you have been experiencing trauma?" Dr. Spears asked. Olivia nods.

"Yes, um... for some reason, these nightmares and hallucinations keep coming back into my head even though I tried multiple times to make it go away." Dr. Spears nods.

"Ok, can you be able to tell where those nightmares and hallucinations came from? Was it something disturbing, scarring or traumatic? Olivia takes a deep breath knowing she has to explain the events again. Spencer sees Olivia's hands trembling and holds her hand.

Dr. Spears comforts her: "It's ok to be nervous, Olivia. I have a feeling you've told your story a few times?"

"Yeah, a few times." Dr. Spears nods, understanding.

"It's ok. Say you have to say. If you never heal from what hurt you, then you'll bleed on people who did not cut you." Olivia nods.

"Um.. ok...one night, me and Spencer were at my house because we just got off of a date. Right when we was going our separate ways, the person named Asher came up pissed and at that point, we didn't know why. He just showed up angry and him and Spencer ended up fighting. The fight didn't go well and Asher knocked us both out with an object he had in his hand. I don't know what the object was."

"While Spencer was knocked out on the ground, he took me to his house and held me captive for the whole night." Dr. Spears nods, understanding the situation.

"Would you like to keep going?" Olivia thinks.

"Um, can I summarize? Because I really don't want to go into detail?" Dr. Spears nods.

"Of course. Whatever makes you comfortable." (A/N: I am not a therapist so I'm not sure if you have the choice to tell an entire story of a traumatic event. So that is why I am summarizing the kidnapping.)

"I was in an old dark room where Asher told me the reason he captured me. He was basically jealous of me and Spencer's relationship so he wanted to do all he can to get back together with me. I kept denying saying it won't happen and he beat me. He punched my face multiple times to the point where I was bleeding. The worst thing he did was.... (starting to cry) i'm sorry...." It was too much for Olivia but she needed to keep going.

"It's ok, Olivia, if you want to stop..." Olivia shakes her head no and Spencer grabs a tissue from a table and wipes her tears. "Thank you, babe." Spencer smiles and still holds on to her hand.

No, it's ok. I want to keep going." Dr. Spears nods his head and she continues.

"The most painful thing he did was grabbing a pipe and using it to break my leg. It was so painful. After that, I was wondering when someone was coming to save me. But luckily, Spencer came, along with my brother Jordan and his girl and my friend, Simone, they took care of Asher and they saved me. They took me to the hospital and the rest is history." Olivia sighs, relieved that she was done telling the story.

Dr. Spears nods at Olivia, looking proud. "Wow, I am so sorry that happened to you, Olivia. No girl should ever have to experience something like that over jealousy." Olivia nods, agreeing.

"I have a question? Why do you think that you have nightmares about him?" Olivia thinks before answering.

"I think it's because I was in so much pain and I had so much fear and anxiety in me that I didn't get the chance to fight back. I felt as if I wasn't strong enough to deal with Asher because I was so broken. Yes I um hit him to get payback but he still pops up in my head." Dr. Spears nods his head. (A/N: Y'all, count how many times I've said nod/nods lol)
