Kaeya opened his eyes to see Albedo's face right in front of him. The two were on the couch. Apparently, at some point in the night, Albedo had fallen over and Kaeya scooted up. Kaeya glanced at the candles. They were all burned out and wax was everywhere. At least a fire hadn't started.

Albedo muttered something in his sleep. He clung to Kaeya and moved his face toward his neck, kissing him enough to leave a mark. He muttered something else. Kaeya couldn't hear what he was saying. He could feel his eyelashes move against his skin as his eyes fluttered open.

"Wha...?" Albedo tensed, moving back as far as he could go into the couch.

"Good morning to you too, sunshine," Kaeya smiled, a bit forced. "Did you sleep well?"

It took about three seconds for Albedo to go from shocked and slightly embarrassed to his usual stoic expression. He cleared his throat and sat up. "I presume you're okay?" he asked.

Kaeya sat up as well and stretched. "No, but I'll manage."

"May I ask...?" Albedo didn't finish the question.

"When I was younger," Kaeya started, folding his hands on his lap and staring down at them. "A thief snuck into our home through my window. I woke up and..." Kaeya lifted his hand to his eye-patch-covered eye. "He stabbed my eye. I don't think he intended to and I can't really remember the sequence of events but it happened. Diluc was the first one to come running into my room while our parents called the police. Ever since I haven't been able to sleep with the lights off."

"I'm sorry," Albedo said, placing his hand over Kaeya's.

"I wasn't sure I would see you again," Kaeya forced a smile and looked at Albedo. "You've been avoiding me for a week, haven't you?"

"I'm sorry," Albedo apologized again. He couldn't deny it.

"May I ask the reason?"

"No."

Kaeya's eye widened. "Oh...okay..." He hadn't been expecting that.

"Wait..." Albedo lifted his hand to Kaeya's neck. "How did-...was that...?"

"Ah, yes, you should've seen how passionate you were," Kaeya placed his hand on his own cheek. "Muttering sweet nothings to me as you slept and placing a kiss on my neck."

"I...did what?" Albedo jumped up off of the couch and went to the furthest edge of the room. "I'm sorry. That was rude of me."

"Haha," Kaeya laughed. "I'm kidding, for the most part. You did kiss my neck but I couldn't hear what you were saying at all. No need to get so worked up. If I knew you were this fun to tease I would do it more often."

"Please don't," Albedo looked at the ground.

"You've been acting odd for a while now...are you still sick?" Kaeya stared.

Lovesick, maybe, but he was never sick to start with. "Just very focused. There is less than a week left now until you leave."

"Oh...oh," Kaeya looked at his hands and folded them onto his lap. He'd forgotten all about why he was here. "Right."

"I'm going to go take a shower. Are you alright now?" Albedo asked, not wanting to leave if Kaeya was still lingering through his memories.

"I'll be alright," he assured.

"Very well."

As soon as Albedo made it onto his own floor he curled up into a ball and started blushing. "I can't believe I kissed his neck. I can't believe I fell asleep there. I was supposed to stay awake," he ruffled his hair and scolded himself. "He is leaving in a week, what am I doing getting attached to someone who likes someone else?" He wanted to slam his head into the wall. "This is very un-intellectual of me."

Kaeya sat on the couch and placed his fingers on the spot where Albedo had kissed him. He looked off into space, not sure what to do. He didn't really understand himself why he felt a bit sad about leaving. He'd gotten really used to living here.

"Very weird of me, hm?" Kaeya sighed. "I knew this was going to be a temporary situation but..." Kaeya crossed his arms. "Why don't I want to leave?"
